Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Elroy Jetson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roy Keane! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jetson has closed the distance and engaged Keane in a clinch.
Keane has had enough of the clinch but Jetson keeps him there for the moment. Keane wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A bit of stalling here from Jetson.
Jetson drags the fight down to the ground.
Keane trying to control the position from guard on top but Jetson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Keane stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jetson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Keane won't allow Jetson to sweep him here. Keane pushes down on Jetson's leg and manages to get into half guard. Keane is looking to take a break and control but Jetson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jetson keeping control of the position. Jetson is trying to stand back up but Keane is controlling him
That's one minute gone in the round. Jetson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Jetson controlling the position. Jetson throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Jetson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Jetson has his hands on Keane's head, controlling the position. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Keane is looking to stand up but Jetson won't let him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Elroy Jetson wasn't doing enough on the ground. Jetson wants to land a leg kick but Keane is out of range. Keane takes a kick to the side of the head. Jetson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Keane wants to break the clinch but can't.
Jetson misses with a knee to the head. Keane fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Keane working hard to break the clinch. Jetson pulls guard successfully.
Keane working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Jetson has his hands on Keane's head, controlling the position. Jetson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Keane's guard. Keane is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jetson is aware though and is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Keane wants to sweep here but Jetson controlling him for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Keane is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Keane looks gassed! Jetson stays in close to Keane's body and controls the position. Jetson passes Keane's left leg - he's now in half guard. Jetson is looking for a kimura here.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Jetson is trying to work for a kimura but Keane is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Jetson decides to stand and escape the position. Jetson darts in and clinches Keane up against the cage. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Jetson gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jetson trying to control the pace. Jetson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Jetson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Elroy Jetson dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Jetson tries to bum rush Keane with a series of wild strikes but Keane uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jetson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Keane backs up against the cage.
Jetson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Keane. That did some damage! Keane is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jetson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Keane tries to sprawl but Jetson drives through with a takedown into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Jetson in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Keane tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Jetson!
