Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tim Chesser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leo Jay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tim Chesser! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Leo Jay! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chesser swats away the attempt to clinch by Jay. A momentary lapse in concentration from Jay enables Chesser to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jay manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Chesser postures up and lands a big shot to Jay's brow. Chesser won't allow Jay to get back to his feet. Jay preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Chesser prevents Jay from getting back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chesser controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Chesser pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jay is keeping the position for now. Chesser trying to control the position from guard on top but Jay is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Tim Chesser just wasn't active enough. Chesser fails with the takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chesser looks to land a left hand but Jay moved out of range nicely. Jay looks to land a combination but Chesser avoids it well. Jay gets the takedown into side control. Jay in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Chesser is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Jay decides to take the fight back to the feet. Chesser throws a nice looking combination but Jay bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Tim Chesser seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chesser misses with a takedown attempt and Jay counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jay.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jay stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chesser swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jay being controlled here momentarily. Jay wants to control from the top but Chesser keeps moving. Jay wants to get up but he can't break Chesser's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Jay pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Chesser is keeping the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Chesser keeping moving, preventing Jay from controlling successfully.
Leo Jay has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. A right-left combo lands from Jay. Jay tries to clinch there but Chesser circles away.
Chesser misses with a double jab.
Jay swats away the attempt to clinch by Chesser. Chesser thows a body shot but no joy. Chesser gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jay accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Chesser wants to sweep here but Jay controlling him for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chesser is pulling down on Jay's head to control his posture. Chesser is working an open guard so Jay takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Chesser gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily letting Jay counter with a right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Chesser. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chesser shoots and misses and Jay counters with a nice double leg into side control. Chesser won't be happy with that. Jay decides to stand up, so the ref orders Chesser to his feet. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Left hook, right uppercut from Chesser. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Chesser shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jay napping and manages to drive through into side control! Chesser is breathing heavily. Chesser working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Leo Jay dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Jay is trying hard to land a takedown here. Chesser sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Chesser tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jay manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Chesser fails with the takedown and Jay counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Jay tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Chesser. Jay decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Tim Chesser is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jay leaves Chesser with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Chesser throws a left and a right that both miss
and Jay counters with a nice double leg into side control. Chesser won't be happy with that. Jay tries to advance to mount but can't. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jay stands up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chesser throws a front kick aimed at Jay's knee but Jay avoids it well. Jay lands with a right hand. Chesser gets a clinch. Jay tries for a takedown. No joy.
Chesser is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Chesser. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jay has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Chesser has hold of one of Jay's legs. Jay is fighting the takedown attempt but Chesser gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Jay wants to stand but Chesser is controlling the position. Chesser drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jay manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Chesser has Jay in his guard. Jay is stalling in the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jay decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Jay looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chesser is fending him off so far but Jay persists. Nope, Chesser circles away and we're back to standing. Chesser lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jay circles away quickly and effectively. Chesser falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jay counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chesser looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Jay looking to pass the guard. Jay postures up.
Chesser is pulling down on Jay's head to control his posture. Jay must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Jay stands and steps away. Chesser gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Chesser misses with a series of wild punches.
Chesser shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jay napping and manages to drive through into side control! Jay pushes Chesser away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Chesser gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Check out the look on Chesser's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Chesser throws a strike aimed at the side of Jay's head but Jay avoids it well. Chesser scoring with punches from side control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jay is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Chesser is controlling him well. The strikes coming from Chesser are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Jay is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Chesser asserts his dominance and retains side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Leo Jay showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Chesser closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jay did well to prevent Chesser getting side control. Chesser throwing shots but Jay is blocking nicely. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jay looks like he's trying to stand up.
Chesser is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Chesser has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Chesser misses with a head shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jay is squirming around, avoiding Chesser's attempts to control the action. Chesser looking to finish Jay with some ground and pound. This is bad for Jay! Chesser pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Jay really wants to buck Chesser off and get back to his feet. Jay takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Chesser lands a heavy elbow. Jay defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Chesser. Poor strikes thrown by Chesser there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Chesser is in the full mount, landing strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chesser unloading with bombs! Chesser has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jay taking shots to the head.
Jay is rocked! Chesser scoring with strikes but Jay is staying in there. Jay is still in real trouble! Can Chesser finish him? This has been an exciting period of action! Chesser is landing with some decent strikes but Jay is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Leo Jay has got the better of the ground game so far. Jay is in a horrible position here. Chesser smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Chesser controlling from mount. Chesser has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jay's face.
Chesser postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jay looks a forlorn figure.
Chesser goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Jay is on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jay trying to control but Chesser is working from the bottom. Jay seems to have recovered his senses. Jay trying to stand up but can't free himself from Chesser's guard. Chesser wriggles free and stands up. Chesser will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Chesser throws a leg kick but Jay checks it. Jay shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Chesser is trying to defend but Jay finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Jay throwing shots but Chesser is blocking nicely. Tim Chesser has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Chesser is looking for a sweep. Jay is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Chesser wants to get back to his feet. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Chesser is pressing down on Jay's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Leo Jay is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Jay stands up from guard. Let's bang!
And that's the end of the fight! Tim Chesser showed his dominance in that final round. I think Jay has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
