Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jerry Jango! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, greg aertz! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from aertz. No joy for Jango on that attempt. Jango looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Jango wants to clinch up but aertz keeps it at a distance. Jango gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. aertz keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jango's head. aertz working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. aertz trying to control the position from guard on top but Jango is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. aertz scoring with some ground and pound. aertz lands a couple of digs. aertz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jango's guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with aertz in particular looking to stall. aertz seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. aertz drops an elbow to the side of Jango's head. aertz is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. aertz in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Jango tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from aertz!
