Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carmelo McKenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danik Babuckiy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McKenzie comes to the cage accompanied by 90210. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carmelo McKenzie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Danik Babuckiy! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Roberts and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Babuckiy leaves McKenzie with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. McKenzie displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Babuckiy. McKenzie shoots and misses and Babuckiy counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Babuckiy. McKenzie is trying to keep Babuckiy in close.
Babuckiy wants to control from the top but McKenzie keeps moving. Babuckiy stays in close to McKenzie's body and controls the position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. McKenzie has his takedown stuffed and Babuckiy counters with a single leg into guard. McKenzie didn't expect that. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carmelo McKenzie. That's going to take a lot out of him. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Babuckiy trying to control the position from guard on top but McKenzie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McKenzie looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Babuckiy throws and elbow that misses. McKenzie uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Babuckiy's guard. Nice move by McKenzie! McKenzie stops Babuckiy from standing up.
That's one minute gone in the round. McKenzie trying to control but Babuckiy is working from the bottom. McKenzie has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Babuckiy looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Babuckiy is on top in guard.
McKenzie is breathing heavily. Babuckiy thows a big elbow that misses. Babuckiy is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Babuckiy decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on McKenzie, up you get! Babuckiy gets in close and instigates a clinch. Babuckiy wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Babuckiy takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Babuckiy receives a warning from the referee for stalling. Babuckiy tries to pull guard but McKenzie holds him up against the cage and eventually Babuckiy drops back down to his feet.
Babuckiy is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Babuckiy is trying to force a seperation but McKenzie has the dominant position. Babuckiy breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Babuckiy closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Babuckiy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Babuckiy has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Babuckiy misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McKenzie.
Babuckiy has closed the distance and engaged McKenzie in a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Babuckiy decides to pull guard. McKenzie throws and elbow that misses. That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. McKenzie lands a decent shot there. Babuckiy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Danik Babuckiy wasn't active enough on the ground. Babuckiy throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. McKenzie tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Babuckiy is in McKenzie's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Babuckiy stands up from McKenzie's guard - Babuckiy perhaps looking for a knockout. A momentary lapse in concentration from McKenzie enables Babuckiy to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. McKenzie manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. McKenzie looking to hit a scissor sweep but Babuckiy is one step ahead there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Babuckiy stands up and waves to McKenzie to follow him. McKenzie tries to clinch but fails miserably and Babuckiy counters with a takedown into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! McKenzie wants to get back to his feet but Babuckiy drags him back down. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Babuckiy in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. McKenzie is looking for a sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Danik Babuckiy dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Danik Babuckiy has got the better of the ground game so far. McKenzie decides to stand up, so the ref orders Babuckiy to his feet. Danik Babuckiy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McKenzie gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Babuckiy counters with a nice double leg into side control. McKenzie won't be happy with that. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Babuckiy decides to stand up, so the ref orders McKenzie to his feet. Babuckiy tries to keep at a distance but McKenzie has taken the fight into the clinch. McKenzie throws a head punch that misses. Babuckiy breaks from the clinch.
McKenzie has Babuckiy up against the cage in a clinch.
McKenzie goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. McKenzie can't break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Babuckiy stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Babuckiy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Babuckiy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Babuckiy decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. McKenzie shoots and misses and Babuckiy counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Babuckiy throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. McKenzie throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Babuckiy is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! McKenzie is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
