Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stanley Montourski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Malcolm Stumps! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Dean Styles and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stumps swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Stumps staying out of range there. Stumps staying out of range there. The fighters circling - Stumps throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Montourski cracks Stumps with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Stumps steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Montourski. Montourski fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Stumps sprawls well initially but Montourski persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Montourski seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Stumps does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Stumps tries to roll over but Montourski keeps him under control. Montourski landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Montourski is trying to control. Stumps wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Montourski looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Montourski works his foot free and advances to mount. Montourski prevents Stumps from getting the reversal.

But Stumps has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Stumps! Stumps drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Montourski dives on top into guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Stumps keeping moving, preventing Montourski from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stumps looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Montourski puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Montourski is keen to just control but Stumps is a slippery customer. Montourski is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Montourski goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Stumps is on top in guard.

Montourski fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Montourski swats away the attempt to clinch by Stumps. Stumps moves in looking to clinch but Montourski pushes him off. Stumps rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Montourski moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Stumps lands a high kick!
Malcolm Stumps seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Montourski checks a leg kick. A right-left combo lands from Stumps. A big right from Stumps misses. Stumps dives in and grabs Montourski's left leg, looking for a takedown. Montourski pushes down on Stumps's head and hops out. Stumps throws a half hearted mid kick. Montourski misses with an uppercut. Stumps saw that one coming. Stumps takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Montourski defending well as Stumps loads up on a big left hand. Stumps tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Montourski manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Stumps avoids the body shot from Montourski.

Stumps throws a right and a left that Montourski avoids nicely. Montourski takes a swing at Stumps's ribcage but misses. A looping hook to the body misses from Montourski. Stumps does a little dance to reset his feet. Stumps looks to land a right hand but Montourski moved out of range. Montourski scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Montourski is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stumps is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Stumps is looking to reverse the position. Montourski working away.

Montourski tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Montourski has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Stumps tries to sprawl out of it but Montourski keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stumps manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Montourski shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Stumps napping and manages to drive through into side control! Stumps is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Montourski cracks Stumps with a big elbow. Montourski is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Stumps will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Montourski wants to control but Stumps is keeping him busy. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Stumps for as long as he can get away with. Montourski's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Stanley Montourski. Montourski punishes Stumps's body with a nice straight punch. Malcolm Stumps has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Montourski misses with a jab, cross combination.

And that's the end of the fight! Stanley Montourski showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Montourski, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
