Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jan Paulsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Armando Julio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paulsen comes to the cage accompanied by Berserkergang. The key to victory for Jan Paulsen has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Illya Tyunina and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paulsen drops Julio with a right and a left! Paulsen comes rushing in but Julio regains his composure and manages to keep Paulsen in guard.
Julio is rocked!
It looks like Armando Julio has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Julio working for a triangle but Paulsen defends it easily.
Julio is still in real trouble! Can Paulsen finish him?

Julio has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Paulsen has passed into side control.
Julio seems to have recovered his senses.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Julio shoots in but Paulsen avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Julio feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Julio is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Paulsen is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Paulsen has escaped and now he's on top!

Julio pushes Paulsen off but Paulsen dives into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Julio wants to improve his position but Paulsen is controlling well.
Julio has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Paulsen is working away from the top position though.

Paulsen has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Julio works to full guard.
Julio has his foot on Paulsen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Paulsen works his way back into a safe position though.

Paulsen wants to stand but Julio has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Julio throws his legs up looking for a submission but Paulsen uses it to pass to side control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Paulsen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Julio on the ground.

Julio is controlling Paulsen's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Julio is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Julio moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Julio feints and as Paulsen raises his hands in defense, Julio changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Julio is pushing down on Paulsen's leg trying to pass to half guard. Paulsen is fighting to maintain full guard but Julio has managed to sneak the leg through.
Julio is keen to just control but Paulsen is a slippery customer.

Julio decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Julio swings around for an armbar but Paulsen sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Julio's guard.

Julio escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Paulsen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Paulsen stands and steps away. Julio gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Paulsen throws a right hand that Julio ducks under and follows up with a left that Julio also avoids with ease.
Julio closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Julio lands in his opponent's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Paulsen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Paulsen misses with a jab, cross combination.
Paulsen scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Paulsen scores with a nice head shot.
The fighters circling - Paulsen throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Paulsen lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Paulsen.

Paulsen wants to get back to his feet but Julio is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Julio is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Paulsen doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Julio.

Julio has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Paulsen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
