Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Duirmund OBrien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shamus Cotter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Duirmund OBrien! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Shamus Cotter! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Chris Edwards and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! OBrien closes the distance and clinches up with Cotter, looking for a takedown. OBrien pushes Cotter against the ropes but Cotter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Cotter has his takedown stuffed and OBrien counters with a nice double leg into guard. Cotter is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
OBrien wanted to stand there but Cotter had control of the position. Cotter is looking to stand back up but OBrien counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Cotter. Cotter is staying active underneath OBrien, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Cotter is trying to control but OBrien manages to pass to mount!
OBrien avoids the attempt from Cotter to control. Cotter avoids a series of strikes thrown by OBrien.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cotter blocking the ground and pound. OBrien stands up from mount. Strange move. OBrien shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. OBrien wants to stand but Cotter is controlling his posture from full guard. OBrien preventing the sweep. OBrien wanted to stand there but Cotter had control of the position. Cotter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. OBrien wants to control from the top but Cotter keeps moving. OBrien tries to free his leg and advance position but Cotter is retaining full guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Cotter is pulling down on OBrien's head. It's preventing any offense from OBrien, at least for the moment.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. OBrien shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than OBrien was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! OBrien tries to control but Cotter wriggling away. OBrien sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. OBrien landing strikes from the mount. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. OBrien with a couple of short strikes. OBrien tries to control but Cotter wriggling away. OBrien takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Cotter is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Cotter reaches up to try and control the position but OBrien seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Cotter rolls and tries to escape and now OBrien has his back!
OBrien is trying to stick to Cotter's back but Cotter is turning into OBrien. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in OBrien's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Cotter.
That's four minutes gone in the round. OBrien keeping full guard, as Cotter tries to pass. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. OBrien is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. OBrien keeping moving, preventing Cotter from controlling successfully. OBrien can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cotter controls the pace. OBrien is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Cotter passes OBrien's left leg - he's now in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Cotter trying to hold on to OBrien's head to control him but OBrien postures up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Cotter with a lazy takedown attempt and OBrien counters with a flying knee. Nice. Cotter has his takedown stuffed so OBrien counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Duirmund OBrien has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shamus Cotter. Cotter is breathing heavily. OBrien wants to stand but Cotter is controlling his posture from full guard.

OBrien looking to sit in guard and control but Cotter gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Cotter wants to pass the guard but OBrien is keeping the position. Cotter seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. OBrien not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Cotter didn't expect that. Duirmund OBrien overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. OBrien postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Cotter wants to sweep but no luck. Cotter is pulling down on OBrien's head. It's preventing any offense from OBrien, at least for the moment. OBrien has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Shamus Cotter. OBrien shoots in but no luck this time. OBrien throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cotter was covering up waiting for the punch and OBrien finishes the takedown easily into guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. OBrien looking to sit in guard and control but Cotter gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. OBrien looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
And that's the end of the fight! Duirmund OBrien showed his dominance in that final round. Well OBrien has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
