Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brian Cohen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johny Lock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Brian Cohen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johny Lock!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lock uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cohen.
Lock moves out of range of the strikes.
Cohen blocks a head kick by Lock.
A telegraphed right hand from Cohen misses the target.
The fighters circling - Cohen throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Lock looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Lock ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cohen moves away.
Lock throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Cohen fails to land with a series of punches.
Lock needs to keep his hands up - Cohen had a free shot at his head there.
Lock loads up on a big right hand but Cohen slips the punch.
Cohen throws a right and a left that Lock avoids nicely.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lock thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cohen's head.
Cohen wants to get back to his feet.

Cohen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lock's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lock's back!

A close round but Johny Lock will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Cohen throws a shot from downtown. Lock moves away and avoids it.
Lock throws a push kick but Cohen slaps the foot to one side.

Lock drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Cohen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lock manages to get himself to full guard.

Lock has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cohen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Lock had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cohen defends it easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Lock has his foot on Cohen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cohen works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Lock throws an overhand right that lands on Cohen's shoulder, as Cohen tries to avoid the shot.

and Lock counters with a big head kick but Cohen shrugs it off.

Brian Cohen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Lock closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Lock is looking for a kimura here.

Cohen is staying active underneath Lock, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Lock stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cohen swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lock drops back looking for a leg! Cohen is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cohen manages to kick Lock off! Lock jumps back into Cohen's guard.

Cohen parries the strikes from Lock easily there. Lock is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Cohen to escape.
Cohen regains half guard.
Lock not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Lock looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cohen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Lock thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Lock is thwarting Cohen's attempts to control the position.
Lock is looking to pass Cohen's guard but actually Cohen recovers to full guard.
Johny Lock is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Lock got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cohen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lock has managed to get both his arms back between Cohen's legs - danger averted.

Lock is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Cohen swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Lock counters with a good low kick that Cohen was not able to check.
Cohen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Cohen is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

and Lock counters with a big head kick but Cohen shrugs it off.
Cohen takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Crunch! Lock slams his shin into Cohen's torso.
Lock takes a swing at Cohen's ribcage but misses.
Lock takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Brian Cohen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Johny Lock comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lock has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
