Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Willie Breckenmeyer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ilya Anisim! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Illya Tyunina and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Breckenmeyer throws a shot to the body.
Anisim wants to clinch up but Breckenmeyer keeps it at a distance. Breckenmeyer drops Anisim with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Anisim looks back up at him and smiles so Breckenmeyer waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Anisim is rocked! Breckenmeyer misses with a two punch combination.
Anisim is still on wobbly legs! Can Breckenmeyer finish him? Anisim displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Breckenmeyer throws out the jab. A big left from Breckenmeyer misses. Breckenmeyer swinging wilding here.
Breckenmeyer missing with a left hand there. Anisim was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Breckenmeyer throws a series of punches but Anisim moves out of range. Breckenmeyer jabbing away but nothing is landing. Anisim moves away from the strike by Breckenmeyer. Breckenmeyer throws a jab when Anisim was well out of range. Breckenmeyer throws out a loose jab but Anisim uses good head movement to avoid it. Anisim avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Breckenmeyer swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Breckenmeyer throws a series of punches but Anisim moves out of range. Anisim slips a jab and a cross from Breckenmeyer.
Breckenmeyer moves into the clinch. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Anisim takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Breckenmeyer scores with a shoulder strike. Breckenmeyer's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
That's one minute gone in the round. A head punch on the inside from Anisim fails to land. Anisim fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Breckenmeyer gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Anisim.
Anisim seems to have recovered his senses. Anisim pulls Breckenmeyer into guard.
Breckenmeyer is looking to work some ground and pound but Anisim has wrist control. Breckenmeyer trying to control but Anisim is working from the bottom. Breckenmeyer tries to stand but Anisim is controlling from the bottom. Breckenmeyer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Anisim on the ground. Breckenmeyer trying to control the position from guard on top but Anisim is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Anisim looks gassed! Breckenmeyer loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Breckenmeyer throwing strikes but missing. Breckenmeyer throws and elbow that misses. Anisim uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Breckenmeyer's guard. Nice move by Anisim!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Breckenmeyer wants to stand but Anisim is controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Breckenmeyer throws a nice looking combination but Anisim bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Breckenmeyer jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
