Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Walters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie Rockovich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Rockovich's choice of entrance music: MetalHealth by Quiet Riot. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Randy Walters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ronnie Rockovich!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rockovich avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rockovich tries to work over Walters's front leg with a kick but Walters checks it.

Rockovich moves into the clinch successfully.
Rockovich avoids the elbow strike from Walters, against the cage.
Rockovich avoiding damage as Walters throws knees to the body.
Walters is pushing Rockovich up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Walters stalling in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Randy Walters.
Walters closes the distance but Rockovich moves to the side
and Rockovich counters with a nice body kick.

and Rockovich makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

and Rockovich counters with a shoot takedown. Walters fights it but they end up in guard.
Rockovich not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Walters could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Rockovich gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Walters tries to clinch

and Rockovich counters with a nice double leg into side control. Walters won't be happy with that.

Rockovich decides to take the fight back to the feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rockovich will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Walters tries to clinch up
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Rockovich shoots in for a takedown but Walters shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Walters wants to clinch but Rockovich slips to the side
and Rockovich counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Walters is breathing heavily.
Walters tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Rockovich counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Walters on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Walters tries to get out of the position.

Rockovich gets to his feet - Walters follows without any prompting.

Rockovich forces Walters back against the cage and clinches.

Rockovich breaks the clinch.
Walters closes the distance looking to clinch

and Rockovich counters by clinching up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Walters throws an elbow that misses.
Walters tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Rockovich avoids it.
Walters tries to land knees in the clinch but Rockovich avoids the damage to the body.
Walters has Rockovich pressed against the cage, preventing Rockovich from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Rockovich is trying to break the clinch but Walters has him pressed against the cage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Walters just misses with a elbow thrown towards Rockovich's brow.
Rockovich wants to break free but Walters has control.
Rockovich tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Walters just stands there and leans against the cage.
Randy Walters has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ronnie Rockovich.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Rockovich breaks the clinch.
Rockovich throws a low kick but it's checked well by Walters.
Walters darts in trying to clinch
and Rockovich counters with a left and a right that stings Walters.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Rockovich.
Rockovich lands with a kick to the ribs.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rockovich is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Walters's half guard.

Rockovich postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Walters to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ronnie Rockovich dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Rockovich throws a head kick that Walters semi-blocks.
Walters looks to clinch
and Rockovich makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Walters really felt that one!

and Rockovich counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Still in half guard, Rockovich seems content to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Walters tries to kick Rockovich off in order to stand up. Rockovich Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rockovich decides to stand up, so the ref orders Walters to his feet.

Rockovich clinches.

Walters tries to land a knee to the head but Rockovich blocks with his arms.
Rockovich has Walters pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Walters manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Rockovich escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Walters is pushing Rockovich's head away, looking to escape. Rockovich manages to hold on to the position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rockovich stands up and we're back to a striking position.

and Rockovich counters by clinching up.
Rockovich managing to block the knees to the body from Walters.

Rockovich avoiding damage as Walters throws knees to the body.
Walters is stalling here.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Walters for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Walters is trying to stall.

With the fighters up against the cage, Walters throws an elbow but misses.
Rockovich takes an elbow to the forehead.

Walters keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Rockovich's efforts to push away.
Walters pushes off an throws an elbow but Rockovich leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Walters lands a damaging elbow.
Walters is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Rockovich fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Rockovich looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Rockovich is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Walters stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Ronnie Rockovich showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Walters throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Rockovich blocks it with crossed arms.

Rockovich is trying to break the clinch but Walters is controlling him.

Rockovich's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Walters tries to stall but Rockovich uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Walters lands a nice elbow.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Walters.

Rockovich pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rockovich has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Rockovich misses with a low kick as Walters jumps back.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Rockovich is keen to just control but Walters is a slippery customer.
Rockovich thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Rockovich frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Walters wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ronnie Rockovich comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rockovich has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
