1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladdy Kozlov! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Dmitry Maklakov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Halamic stuns Kozlov with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Halamic tries to clinch but Kozlov moves out of range. Halamic bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kozlov's head. Halamic avoids a kick to the body.

That was a close round but I would say that Vedran Halamic will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Halamic doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kozlov counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Halamic keeping full guard, as Kozlov tries to pass. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Halamic tries to clinch up but Kozlov circles away and keeps his distance. Kozlov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Halamic does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Kozlov misses with a head shot. Halamic uses the momentum to regain guard. Halamic is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Kozlov dives into side control.

Kozlov cracks Halamic with a big elbow. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
