Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Door Knob! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joh Jah! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Knob connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Jah's hands. Knob looks to throw the jab but Jah is out of range. A jab lands there for Knob. Jah steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Knob. A looping hook to the body misses from Jah. Knob does a little dance to reset his feet. Jah's jab looks to have found its range, popping Knob under the eye. Jah connects with a leg kick. Knob looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Jah throws a hook but Knob avoids it easily. Jah scores with a takedown into Knob's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jah trying to control but Knob is working from the bottom. Knob is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Knob is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Jah wants to pass the guard but Knob is keeping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jah's corner is telling him to maintain position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Joh Jah has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. A momentary lapse in concentration from Knob enables Jah to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Knob manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Jah trying to control but Knob is working from the bottom. Knob has momentary wrist control but Jah slips an elbow through the middle. Knob is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jah controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Knob wants to sweep but no luck. Knob will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Knob keeping moving, preventing Jah from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Knob controlling Jah's posture.
Joh Jah has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Jah misses the jab. Jah walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Knob shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jah counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Jah scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Knob actively working from the bottom here. Knob is breathing heavily. Jah is controlling the pace.
Let's hope that Jah has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Knob blocking the ground and pound attempt from Jah. Jah missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Jah is figuring out what he wants to do next. Jah sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Knob defending well though. Jah is thwarting Knob's attempts to control the position. Jah stalling away here and it's allowed Knob to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Jah tries to stand but Knob is controlling from the bottom. Knob preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Jah thows a big elbow that misses. Knob seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Knob is trying to keep Jah in close.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jah is on top in guard.

Joh Jah dominated that round. That's time! Knob's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Knob swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Jah loads up on a big right hand but Knob slips the punch. Jah throws a hook but Knob blocks it. Jah fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Knob manages to avoid it. Jah will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Knob paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Knob looks to throw the jab but Jah is out of range. Jah misses with a body shot.
Jah gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Jah with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Knob to score with a decent uppercut. Knob throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Knob scores with a hook. Jah misses with a two punch combination.
Knob with a body punch. A glancing blow. Jah ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Knob moves away. Knob fails with a takedown attempt. Knob throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jah misses with a looping right. Knob sizes up Jah with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jah tries to score a power double leg takedown but Knob sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jah somewhat. Jah tries to score with a low kick but Knob moves his leg out of the way. Door Knob seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jah takes a body punch but keeps moving. Jah is breathing heavily. Knob misses with a looping right. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Knob, as that shot connected.
Knob keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jah. Jah is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. Knob with a body punch. A glancing blow. Jah takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Knob shoots in and bounces Jah off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Knob wants to pass the guard but Jah is keeping the position. Jah has a closed guard, preventing Knob from standing up. Knob sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jah's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jah is not content to let Knob control the position. Knob works his way into full mount! Knob trying to control but he's not successful this time. Knob is working for a guillotine from mount but Jah frees his head quite easily.
Jah gets back to half guard. Knob is working for a submission of some sort.
Knob is looking for a kimura here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Knob is looking to advance position but Jah won't allow it. Knob seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jah does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Jah is trying to control but can't.
Jah moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Knob passes into half guard. Knob is trying to work for a kimura but Jah is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Knob is looking to stall here but Jah recovers full guard. Jah controls Knob momentarily but Knob frees himself. Jah is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Knob trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Joh Jah has got the better of the ground game so far. Knob drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Knob jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Knob advances position into side control! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jah is looking to reverse the position. Knob goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Jah has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Knob but great work by Jah. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Door Knob dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Jah staying out of range there. Jah fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Knob manages to avoid it. Knob looks to score with a jab to the body but Jah is just out of range. Knob lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Knob misses with an uppercut. Knob takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Jah uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Knob. Jah takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Knob keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Knob misses with a takedown and Jah counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Jah scores with a jab to the jaw.
It looks like Door Knob has been cut. Knob scores with a nice head shot. Knob throws a jab when Jah was well out of range. Jah slips a jab from Knob. Knob uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jah. Jah lands with a hook. Knob tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Jah uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Knob.
Door Knob is winning the standup battle so far. Knob drives through with a takedown into guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jah keeping full guard, as Knob tries to pass. Jah seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jah lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Knob! Knob wants to control but Jah is having none of it. Jah tries to control but Knob wriggling away. Knob keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Jah has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Knob's face.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jah wants to control the action but instead Knob gets a body lock and reverses into Jah's guard! Nice work! Knob thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Jah is trying to keep Knob in close.

Knob works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Jah lands with a nice body punch. Knob looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Knob throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

so Jah counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jah keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Knob's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Knob wants to improve his position but instead Jah has moved into half guard.
Jah is stalling here. Knob is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Jah seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Knob has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Jah is looking to reverse the position. Knob working away. Jah manages to work his way to half guard, despite Knob's best efforts. Jah is pressing down on Knob's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Knob looking to pass the guard. Knob wants to control from the top but Jah keeps moving. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Jah looking for a sweep. Not yet Jah, not yet. Knob wants to control from the top but Jah keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jah doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Door Knob has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Jah closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jah lands in his opponent's guard. Jah throws a big right hand that misses. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Knob is on top in guard.
Jah manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jah unloading with bombs!
And that's the end of the fight! Joh Jah comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Jah has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
