The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Choake is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Cortez looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Choake throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cortez tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Choake is in Cortez's guard.
Cortez can't keep his opponent in guard - Choake advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Cortez actively working from the bottom here.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Cortez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Choake pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Choake content to control rather than advance.
Choake moves nicely into side control.
The referee asks Choake politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Choake prefers to stall for the moment though.
Choake landing a few strikes.
Choake is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Cortez looks calm but he's in trouble here. Choake gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Cortez is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Choake lets go of the hold and Cortez can pop his arm back in it's socket.
