Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyoto Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes to the cage accompanied by Goldberg Theme. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Gonzalez gets the takedown into side control.
Gonzalez sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Silva is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Silva takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Silva wants to get back to his feet.
Gonzalez thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Silva regains half guard.
Gonzalez is pressing down on Silva's thigh, looking to free his foot. Silva is holding on for now.

Silva slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Gonzalez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Silva can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Silva got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gonzalez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Silva has managed to get both his arms back between Gonzalez's legs - danger averted.

Silva throws the kick towards the body but Gonzalez avoids it.

Silva manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gonzalez manages to get himself to full guard.
Silva works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Gonzalez tries to improve position but can't.
Gonzalez wants to get back to his feet but Silva is dominant here and he's now got Gonzalez's back!

Silva looking to break Gonzalez's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Gonzalez remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Silva will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Silva is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Gonzalez defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
