PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reyndel Duran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Allright Yeah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reyndel Duran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Allright Yeah!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Lou da Vinci and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yeah tries to close the distance and clinch but Duran swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Duran closes the distance and clinches.

Duran breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Duran avoids the head kick by Yeah.
Yeah misses with a head kick.
Yeah wants to clinch

and Duran counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Yeah's guard now.
Yeah is looking to stand up but Duran isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yeah can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Duran controls the pace.

Duran decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Yeah, up you get!

Duran forces Yeah back against the cage and clinches.

Duran ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Duran no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Yeah tries to free his leg and advance position but Duran is retaining full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Duran throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Yeah should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Duran has his hands on Yeah's head, controlling the position.
Yeah looks gassed!
Duran looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yeah is one step ahead there.
Duran is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Duran is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Duran stands up and beckons Yeah to join him on the feet.
Duran throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Duran gets a clinch.

Duran turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Duran manages to end up in side control.
Duran remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Duran connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Yeah some visible discomfort.

Duran decides to stand back up. Duran steps back and let's Yeah get back to his feet.
Yeah chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Duran can pounce on him.

Duran drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Duran is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Duran thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Duran passes Yeah's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Duran is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Yeah!

Duran is standing up, even though he is in mount.

Duran shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Duran is taking a breather. Yeah says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Duran has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Duran's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reyndel Duran dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Duran feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Yeah wants to stand but Duran is controlling the position.
Duran passes easily into side control. Nice work.
You can see the frustration on Yeah's face as Duran controls the position.

Duran is trying to get an arm triangle but Yeah is defending well.

Duran tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Yeah is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Duran decides to stand back up.

Duran gets a takedown into half guard.
Duran is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Duran working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Duran connects with a nice short shot to Yeah's temple.
Duran is taking a breather. Yeah says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Reyndel Duran overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Duran passes the guard and advances to mount!
Yeah taking shots to the head.

Duran is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Yeah can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Duran sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Duran fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Duran is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Yeah can't fight it off and eventually Duran manages to take the fight to the floor. Yeah looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Yeah takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Duran scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Duran is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Duran gets to his feet - Yeah follows without any prompting.

Duran darts in and clinches Yeah up against the cage.

Duran manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Duran manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Yeah manages to get himself to full guard.
Duran controlling from the top position.

Duran decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Duran tests Yeah's chin there with a solid looking shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Duran clinches with his opponent.

Duran decides to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Duran looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Duran has his feet on Yeah's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Oooooh!!! Duran has knocked Yeah down with a huge combo! Duran steps away and waves a wobbly Yeah back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Yeah is still on wobbly legs! Can Duran finish him?
Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Duran throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Yeah is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Reyndel Duran!
