Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ezra Ray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kent is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by BLUNT- "The Iron Maiden". I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ezra Ray! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jim Kent! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kent fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ray avoids it really well and circles away. Ray getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Ray fails with the takedown and Kent counters with a nice body kick.
Ray just misses with a punch to the body.
A head kick misses from Ray. Kent fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Ray has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Ray moves out of range of the body kick. Kent ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. That kick from Ray tenderised Kent's leg. Kent is trying to keep his angry face on. Kent misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A head kick by Ray misses and Kent counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ray's guard now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ray keeping moving, preventing Kent from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ray is looking to stand up but Kent isn't so interested in that idea. Kent wants to pass the guard but Ray is keeping the position. Kent stops Ray from standing up. Kent throws and elbow that misses. Ray uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kent's guard. Nice move by Ray! Kent escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ray gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Ray trying to control but Kent is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Ray throwing strikes but missing. Kent looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ray is one step ahead there. Ray lands a couple of elbows. Kent had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ray defends it easily. Ray wants to pass the guard but Kent is keeping the position. Kent throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ray looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Kent controls Ray momentarily but Ray frees himself. That could spell trouble for Ray!

Ray connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kent's hands. Ray throws a sloppy head kick and Kent counters with a nice body kick.
Kent changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ray tries to avoid it but Kent manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ray to the ground. Ray escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Kent throws a low kick but Ray moves out of range easily. Kent is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ray sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Ezra Ray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Kent. Ray throws a head kick that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Ray, right into the meat.

Kent throws a lazy head kick letting Ray counter with a right hand. A big right from Ray misses. Kent steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ray. Kent uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ray.
A big left from Ray misses. Ray misses the shot to the body. Ray throws a hook but Kent blocks it. Ray throws a body kick that misses. Ray misses with a kick to the body and Kent counters with a slapping leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ray throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kent sees it coming and avoids it easily. Kent blocks a jab. Ray scores with a push kick. An inside leg kick lands from Ray. Ray lands a big head kick that sends Kent tumbling to the mat! Ray takes a step backwards and waves Kent back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Kent is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ray throws out a loose jab but Kent uses good head movement to avoid it. Kent is still on wobbly legs! Can Ray finish him? Ray lands a leg kick that knocks Kent off balance momentarily. Kent seems to have recovered his senses. Kent keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ray throws a leg kick and Kent counters with a body kick. Ray looks to throw the jab but Kent is out of range. Ray gets off balance looking for a body kick and Kent counters with a single leg into guard. Ray didn't expect that. Jim Kent has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kent stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ray swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kent preventing the sweep. Kent passes Ray's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Kent trying to mount his opponent but Ray defends it. Kent not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Kent is trying to control. Ray wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Kent throws a strike but Ray avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kent slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Kent wants to control but Ray is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kent tries to score with some ground and pound. Ray controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Kent creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Kent throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kent throwing shots but missing, from side control. Kent tries to move into full mount but can't pass Ray's legs. Ray gets back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ray tests Kent's chin there with a solid looking shot. Kent avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Kent shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kent showed some decent athleticism there. Kent works his way into full mount! Kent misses with a head shot.

Kent goes for an armbar but Ray turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Ray. Ray controls from within his opponent's guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Ray sitting in guard, not really doing much. Ray won't allow Kent to sweep him here. Kent is trying to control the position but Ray postures up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ezra Ray. Ray throws a leg kick and Kent counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ray won't be happy with that. Kent wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ray keeps working. Ray prevents Kent from moving into mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kent looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Ray is avoiding damage well.
A lull in the action here. Kent postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Kent wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ray keeps working. Kent working away. Kent fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Ray struggling a bit here. Ray parries the strikes from Kent easily there. Kent is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Ray to escape.
The ground and pound from Kent seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Ray is trying to control Kent's posture but Kent avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kent goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Ray has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kent but great work by Ray. Ray decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kent to his feet. Ray looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Kent uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ray. Ray misses with an uppercut. Ray ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Ray throws a hook but Kent avoids it easily. Ray swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ray lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kent circles away quickly and effectively. Ray looks to land a body kick but Kent moved away. Kent moves away from the strike by Ray. Kent takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Nice defenses there by Kent. Ray throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kent stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Ray. Ray misses with a straight right. Kent throws a nice inside leg kick. Ray throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kent closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ray is not content to let Kent control the position. Kent thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ray's head. Ray is trying to maintain the position but Kent is very close to passing his half guard. Kent wants to pass the guard but Ray is defending well. Ray regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Kent. Kent throws and elbow that misses. Ray uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kent's guard. Nice move by Ray!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Kent wants to sweep here but Ray controlling him for the moment. Ray controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Kent wants to control the position but Ray says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Ray slips a nice elbow through Kent's hands, connecting with Kent's forehead. Kent wants to improve his position but Ray is controlling well.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close fourth round but I would say that Ezra Ray will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Kent throws a leg kick and Ray counters with a lovely shot to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kent fails with the takedown and Ray counters with a body kick that stops Kent in his tracks momentarily. Kent is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell? Ray throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kent's head. Ray fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kent. Ray getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Ray throws a sloppy head kick so Kent counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kent trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Ray manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Kent has momentary wrist control but Ray slips an elbow through the middle. Ray is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Ray gets to his feet. Kent looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Ray throws a sloppy body shot
and Kent counters with a nice leg kick. Ray looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Kent pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Good work by Ray as he checks the leg kick. Ray throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Ray on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kent. Kent obviously looking to wear him down.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ray throws an overhand right that lands on Kent's shoulder, as Kent tries to avoid the shot. Kent shoots in but Ray avoids the takedown attempt easily. Ezra Ray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Kent. Kent moves out of range of the strikes. Kent tries to land a front kick but Ray steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Ray throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kent's head. Kent decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Ray trying to control but Kent postures up.
Kent is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ray has managed to free his arm - good work.

Kent trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ray trying to control the position here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kent in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
