Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Huo Samja!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 3 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Jones!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samja gets caught flat footed, as Jones shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Samja might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Jones controls from within his opponent's guard.
Samja keeping full guard, as Jones tries to pass.
Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones is working Samja over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Jones controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Mike Jones has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Good leg kick by Samja there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Samja lands a left and a right that send Jones crashing to the mat, dazed. Samja thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Mike Jones has been cut.
Huo Samja seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Samja connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Jones covering up! Samja comes in with a big uppercut and Jones goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Huo Samja!
