Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jamie Carlson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Riddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Rage Against The Machine: Bulls On Parade . Mike Riddell has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jamie Carlson 's chin.

10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mike Riddell! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carlson throws a big shot that misses. Riddell takes one to the chin there. Carlson throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Riddell checks a low kick from Carlson . Riddell avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Jamie Carlson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Carlson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Carlson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Riddell moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Carlson swings for the body but Riddell moves out of range.
Carlson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Riddell sees it coming and avoids it easily. A combination from Carlson does no damage. Riddell wants to clinch. Riddell is looking to clinch but Carlson is avoiding it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carlson scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Carlson shoots in and drives through. Riddell sprawls well. Carlson misses with a straight left. Carlson throws a big shot that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Riddell is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Carlson . Riddell thows a body shot but no joy. Riddell tries to close the distance and clinch but Carlson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Riddell takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Carlson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Carlson throws a jab but it's blocked by Riddell. Carlson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Carlson showed some decent athleticism there. Carlson stalling. Riddell is looking to control Carlson 's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Riddell avoid being mounted? Carlson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Riddell does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Carlson is looking to take a break and control but Riddell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Riddell is looking to control Carlson 's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Riddell avoid being mounted? Carlson is keen to just control but Riddell is a slippery customer. Riddell is pressing down on Carlson 's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Carlson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Riddell dives on top into guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Riddell accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Carlson keeping moving, preventing Riddell from controlling successfully. Carlson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Carlson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Carlson is trying to control the position but Riddell postures up. Riddell thows a big elbow that misses. Carlson wants to sweep but no luck. Riddell controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Riddell throwing strikes but missing. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Riddell accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Riddell pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Carlson is keeping the position for now. Carlson pulls Riddell in close to prevent any damage. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Carlson is on top in guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Riddell not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Riddell on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Riddell blocks a jab. Riddell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Riddell wants it to stay on the feet. Carlson throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Carlson cracks Riddell with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Carlson misses with a body shot.
Carlson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Riddell avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round. Carlson connects with a single shot there. Carlson misses with a straight right. Carlson throws out a loose jab but Riddell uses good head movement to avoid it. Carlson is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Riddell throws the left hand but Carlson avoids the punch easily. Carlson throws a right and a left that Riddell avoids nicely. Carlson misses with a looping right. Carlson swinging wildly here.

and Riddell holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Riddell lands an elbow that stopped Carlson in his tracks for a moment. Carlson tries to pull guard but Riddell won't allow it.

On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Carlson misses with a two punch combination.
Carlson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Riddell's head backwards. Riddell moves out of range as Carlson strikes. Riddell takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Riddell forces Carlson back against the cage and clinches.

Carlson gets control of Riddell's arms and successfully pulls guard. Carlson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Riddell stays in close to Carlson 's body and controls the position. Riddell wants to control from the top but Carlson keeps moving. Riddell content to stall in guard here. OK we're going to have a standup here. Mike Riddell hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Riddell tries to clinch but Carlson is having none of it. Riddell takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Carlson shoots in for a takedown but Riddell shows good takedown defense. A big left from Carlson misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Riddell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Carlson misses the body punch and Riddell counters with a nice body shot. Riddell connects with a crisp jab. Riddell ducks under a wild hook from Carlson . A punch lands to the side of Riddell 's head but he takes it in his stride. Some bone on bone action there as Carlson checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Carlson shoots in looking for a takedown but Riddell manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Carlson 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Riddell wants to clinch. Carlson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Riddell doesn't seem bothered though. Carlson avoids the body shot from Riddell.

A big right from Carlson misses. Carlson throws a body punch but Riddell moves out of range. Carlson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Riddells jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Riddell fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Carlson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Riddell forces Carlson back against the cage and clinches. Nice elbow from Riddell. A shot in the inside from Riddell. Carlson blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Riddell has a couple of punches blocked by Carlson .

Riddell manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Riddell is looking for a sweep. Carlson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Riddell has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carlson is working away from the top position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Riddell is pressing down on Carlson 's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Carlson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Riddell looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Riddell looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Riddell! Carlson tries to bench press Riddell off him but Riddell keeps the position. Riddell tries to score with some ground and pound. Carlson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Carlson is not content to let Riddell control the position. Riddell is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Riddell lands a decent elbow from side control. Sloppy strikes there by Riddell. Riddell postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

And that's the end of the fight! Mike Riddell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Riddell has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
