Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roberto Carlos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brendon Rocha Freire Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roberto Carlos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brendon Rocha Freire Junior!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good exchange - Carlos coming out on top.
Carlos fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rocha Freire Junior avoids it really well and circles away.
Carlos keeps the fight on the outside.
Carlos throws a sloppy head kick and Rocha Freire Junior moves out of range easily.

Carlos tries to keep at a distance but Rocha Freire Junior has taken the fight into the clinch.

Rocha Freire Junior tightens his grip and picks Carlos up, before dumping him to the ground. Carlos manages to land in guard.
Rocha Freire Junior postures up in Carlos's guard and throws a big left but Carlos blocks it.

Carlos drops down looking for an ankle pick but Rocha Freire Junior pulls his leg out and moves away.
Carlos misses with a hook.
Rocha Freire Junior throws a series of punches but Carlos avoids them all with ease.
Carlos avoids a punch combination nicely.
Carlos moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Crunch! Carlos slams his shin into Rocha Freire Junior's torso.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rocha Freire Junior wants to stand and escape but instead Carlos has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Carlos prevents Rocha Freire Junior from getting back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carlos forces his way into half guard.

Carlos seems to be looking for submissions.

Carlos wants to pass the guard but Rocha Freire Junior is defending well.
Carlos takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Rocha Freire Junior has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That was a close round but I would say that Roberto Carlos will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Carlos throws a push kick but Rocha Freire Junior slaps the foot to one side.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Rocha Freire Junior escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Carlos throws a lazy head kick

and Rocha Freire Junior counters with a takedown into side control.

Rocha Freire Junior decides to stand back up.

Carlos throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rocha Freire Junior was covering up waiting for the punch and Carlos finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Carlos throws and elbow that misses. Rocha Freire Junior uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Carlos's guard. Nice move by Rocha Freire Junior!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Carlos looking for a sweep. Not yet Carlos, not yet.

Rocha Freire Junior drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Rocha Freire Junior as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Carlos screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Rocha Freire Junior! Nice submission victory there!
