0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takashi Kadota! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shigeki Sano and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kadota takes a swing at Ladeia's ribcage but misses. Kadota defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ladeia. Kadota tries to score with a low kick but Ladeia moves his leg out of the way. Ladeia fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Kadota fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ladeia manages to avoid it. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ladeia is defended easily by Kadota. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Ladeia. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ladeia shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kadota sprawls well. Kadota looks to land a left hand but Ladeia moved out of range nicely. Ladeia displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kadota throws out the jab. Kadota lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Kadota looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ladeia with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kadota working Ladeia over with strikes. Ladeia is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kadota's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kadota's back! Kadota tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Kadota tries to hold on but Ladeia postures up. Ladeia wants to take Kadota's back but he can't do it this time. Kadota is wriggling around trying to escape.
Ladeia is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Kadota has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Kadota! Kadota connects with a couple of short punches.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Kadota slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Ladeia looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Kadota passes into side control.

It looks like Jose Ladeia has been cut. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Kadota cracks Ladeia with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
