Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, bill clinton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Unitas! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, David Schapiro and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! clinton scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Unitas trying to hold on to clinton's head to control him but clinton postures up.
clinton is figuring out what he wants to do next. Unitas makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Unitas. Unitas is trying to keep clinton in close.
clinton would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. clinton postures up.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Unitas throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

clinton's corner is telling him to maintain position. clinton stands and throws Unitas's legs to the side, diving into side control. Unitas is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked clinton off and has taken his back! clinton manages to reverse the position and now he's in Unitas's guard. Nice work there by clinton.
clinton stays in close to Unitas's body and controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. clinton cracks Unitas with a solid left hand. Unitas looking for submissions from the bottom but instead clinton passes into half guard.

clinton decides to return to a standing position. Unitas gets tackled into the cage by clinton. clinton maintains the clinch. clinton breaks from the clinch.
clinton has closed the distance and engaged Unitas in a clinch.
Unitas is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but clinton is keeping busy. Unitas blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
That's three minutes gone in the round. clinton manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Unitas preventing the sweep. Unitas trying to control but clinton is working from the bottom. There's a bit of a scramble here and now clinton is on top in guard.
Unitas looking for a sweep. Not yet Unitas, not yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Unitas looks gassed! clinton got a little sloppy there for a moment and Unitas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, clinton has managed to get both his arms back between Unitas's legs - danger averted. Unitas had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. clinton defends it easily. clinton gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. clinton drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. clinton passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Unitas! clinton content just to control the position here. Unitas really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

bill clinton dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
clinton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Unitas was covering up waiting for the punch and clinton finishes the takedown easily into guard. Unitas wants to improve his position but instead clinton has moved into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. clinton lands a nice short elbow. clinton keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. clinton passes into side control, despite Unitas's attempt to control the position.
clinton decides to stand back up. Unitas is breathing heavily. clinton scores with a takedown into Unitas's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. clinton stands up from Unitas's guard - clinton perhaps looking for a knockout. clinton shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. clinton slows the pace down in half guard. Unitas slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. clinton is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's two minutes gone in the round. clinton is looking to work some ground and pound but Unitas has wrist control. clinton cracks Unitas with a solid left hand. Unitas can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as clinton controls the pace. Unitas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Unitas is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Unitas has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but clinton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. clinton controls the pace of the fight for a moment. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The ref stands the fighters back up. bill clinton wasn't doing enough on the ground. Unitas doesn't succeed with the takedown and clinton counters with a takedown into side control. clinton working the ground and pound. Unitas is trying to escape the position but clinton is controlling the position. clinton lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Unitas down.
clinton is working to tighten is grip on Unitas's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Unitas has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but clinton is really squeezing tight and eventually Unitas passes out! clinton breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
