Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jon Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Ruiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Miller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charles Ruiz! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ruiz misses with a takedown attempt - Miller sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Ruiz looks to land a right hand but Miller moved out of range. Ruiz loads up on a big right hand but Miller slips the punch. Miller closes the distance and pushes Ruiz back into the cage. Miller leaning against his opponent.
Ruiz is trying to force a seperation but Miller has the dominant position. Ruiz is looking to break free of the clinch but Miller has double underhooks. Miller pulls guard effortlessly. Ruiz chips away with some ground and pound. Ruiz missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Ruiz distracts Miller with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Ruiz is looking to work some ground and pound but Miller has wrist control. Miller on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Miller tries to get out of the position. Ruiz throwing strikes but missing. Ruiz preventing the sweep. Miller is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ruiz is controlling him. Ruiz trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Ruiz throws a big right hand that misses. Ruiz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Miller is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruiz wants to get back to striking at distance but Miller won't allow it.
Miller decides to pull guard. Ruiz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Ruiz prevents Miller from getting back to his feet. Miller looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ruiz is looking to work some ground and pound but Miller has wrist control. Miller is adopting a defensive guard. Miller wriggles free and stands up. Miller stuffs the takedown. Ruiz looks gassed! Ruiz scores with a decent looking hook. Miller shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ruiz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Miller trying to control but Ruiz is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miller working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Miller is stalling in the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ruiz working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Miller. Miller stands and steps away. Ruiz gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Ruiz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily so Miller counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Jon Miller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles Ruiz. Miller stays in close to Ruiz's body and controls the position. Miller looking to pass the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Ruiz preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Miller has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Miller controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Jon Miller just wasn't active enough. Miller darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Miller dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Miller shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Miller thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ruiz's head. Miller stops Ruiz from getting back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round. Miller is looking to take a break and control but Ruiz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ruiz is breathing heavily. Miller slows the pace down in half guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jon Miller wasn't doing enough on the ground. Miller gets the takedown into side control. Miller with the ground and pound but Ruiz regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Ruiz wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miller stalling. Miller trying to pass the guard but Ruiz defending well. Miller seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miller wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ruiz keeps working. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
We're going to have a standup here because Jon Miller wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Miller lands with a kick to the temple. Ruiz shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Miller throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ruiz was covering up waiting for the punch and Miller finishes the takedown easily into guard. Miller in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miller is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Ruiz keeping moving, preventing Miller from controlling successfully. Miller throwing strikes but missing. Miller lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Miller dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Miller throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Ruiz misses with a takedown and Miller counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Miller pushing down on Ruiz's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Jon Miller overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Miller is pressing down on Ruiz's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ruiz is holding on for now. Ruiz is refusing to be controlled, as Miller sits in half guard. Ruiz pushes Miller off looking to stand but Miller dives back in and keeps control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller is taking a breather. Ruiz says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Ruiz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Miller seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ruiz for as long as he can get away with. Miller is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Miller controlling the action here.
Jon Miller has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Miller closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miller controlling the action here. Miller is trying to control. Ruiz wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Miller seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Miller's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Charles Ruiz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Ruiz looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Miller passes into half guard.
