Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Khalifa Khalifa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Susumo Komota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Komota has chosen Butsikek as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Susumo Komota!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khalifa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Komota sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Khalifa somewhat.
Komota lands a nice shot that snaps Khalifa's head back.
Komota fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Khalifa takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Khalifa has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Khalifa on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Komota. Komota obviously looking to wear him down.
Komota throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Khalifa throws a nice looking combination but Komota bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
No joy there for Komota, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Komota gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Komota wants to stand but Khalifa is controlling the position.
Komota is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Khalifa throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Komota works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Komota keeping full guard, as Khalifa tries to pass.

Komota working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Khalifa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Khalifa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Komota wants to sweep but no luck.
Khalifa slips nicely into half guard.
Khalifa is keen to just control but Komota is a slippery customer.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Komota is trying to stand up here but Khalifa is controlling him well.
Khalifa wants to pass the guard but Komota is defending well.

Khalifa throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Komota tries to kick Khalifa off but Khalifa keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Khalifa working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Khalifa tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Khalifa working over Komota with some ground and pound. Komota looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Khalifa not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Khalifa is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Komota is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Khalifa scores with a couple of nice shots.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Khalifa lands a nice short elbow.
Khalifa is trying to control. Komota wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Khalifa scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Khalifa is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Khalifa looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Komota with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Komota is staying active underneath Khalifa, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Komota wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Komota lands a nice looking body shot.
Susumo Komota seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Khalifa looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Komota scores with a kick to the midsection.
Komota throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Khalifa shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Komota's guard.
