Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mr Al (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramon Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Al comes to the cage accompanied by Overkill. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mr Al! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ramon Rivera! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Al tries to close the distance and clinch but Rivera swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ramon Rivera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Al tries to close the distance and clinch but Rivera swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A slow jab from Rivera misses its intended target. Al avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Al tries to clinch up. Al shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rivera as he avoids it easily. Rivera digs a good body shot into Al's ribs. Al moves away from the strike by Rivera. Rivera cracks Al with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Al cracks the inside of Rivera's front leg. Al rushes Rivera and presses him up against the cage. Al lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Al tries to score a body lock takedown but Rivera shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Al's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Al clinches up with Rivera and pushes him back against the cage. Rivera is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Rivera is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Al manages to break the clinch.
Al dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rivera. That did some damage! Nice body kick from Al. Rivera looks gassed! Al is looking to clinch but Rivera is avoiding it.
Al throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A left lands for Al.
It looks like Ramon Rivera has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Al pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Al moves into range and clinches up with Rivera. Al is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Rivera is defending well for now. Al works on Rivera's body with a couple of short punches. Al breaks from the clinch.
Al swings for the body but Rivera moves out of range.
Al rushes Rivera and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Al manages to break the clinch.
Al connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rivera dodges the punch combination from Al.
Al scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Al looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mr Al. That's going to take a lot out of him. Al misses with a takedown attempt - Rivera sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Rivera takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Al lands a left and a right that send Rivera crashing to the mat, dazed. Al thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Rivera is rocked! Al closes the distance and clinches. Rivera is still on wobbly legs! Can Al finish him? A quick uppercut on the inside from Al. Al works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Rivera seems to have recovered his senses. Nice body punch from Al. Al digs a right hand into Rivera's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Rivera's gas tank.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Al cracks Rivera with a nice body shot. A short left from Al. Al missing with knees to the body.
Al escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Al lands with a cross.
That has opened up Ramon Rivera's cut even more. Rivera slaps away a takedown attempt from Al, before circling back to the center of the mat. Rivera takes a shot right to the bread basket. Al throws a body punch but Rivera moves out of range. Al connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Al feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Rivera sprawling to the canvas! Rivera rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Al finish him?!
The cut above Ramon Rivera's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Al circles away from the clinch attempt and Al counters with a leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Al moves into the clinch. Rivera takes an elbow to the forehead. A right hand to the body from Al.
A right handed body shot lands from Al.
Al breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Al drives through and clinches with Rivera against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Al just misses with a elbow thrown towards Rivera's brow. Al breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Al has closed the distance and engaged Rivera in a clinch.
Rivera is trying to force a seperation but Al has the dominant position. Rivera wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Al escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Al fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Al wants to clinch. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Al connects with a right hand. Rivera shakes it off. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mr Al dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ramon Rivera's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
A slapping body kick lands there for Al. Nice body punch from Al. Al shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rivera sprawls well. Rivera wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Al gets slowly back to his feet. Mr Al is winning the standup battle so far. Rivera on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Al is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rivera can do to turn this around? The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Al clinches. Al tries for a takedown. No joy.
Al lands a nice shot to the body. Al using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Rivera has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Rivera stalling in the clinch but Al improves position. Al works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Al manages to break the clinch.
Al tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Rivera is breathing heavily. A jab from Al does it's job there.
Ramon Rivera's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
That's one minute gone in the round. Good exchange - Al coming out on top.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ramon Rivera's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Mr Al!
