13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rigan Machado ! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carter takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Carter throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Carter fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Carter throws a nice looking combination but Machado bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Carter scores with a nice head shot. Machado bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Carter throws a lazy right hand but Machado sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A big right from Machado misses. Carter misses the shot to the body. Carter fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Machado keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Carter takes a shot right to the bread basket. Machado misses the shot to the body. A big left from Machado misses. Machado jabs Carter to the body, keeping him at a distance. Carter misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Carter misses with a series of wild punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carter fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Machado uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Carter. Machado closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Carter quickly recovers to half guard. Machado passes to full mount! Machado takes Carter's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Carter is in trouble. Carter is breathing heavily. Machado has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Carter! Can he survive? No! He's out! Machado gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
