Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hendo Ferra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pono Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hendo Ferra could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Pono Reyes's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hendo Ferra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Pono Reyes!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reyes throws out a leg kick but Ferra moves out of range and Reyes only half commits.
Reyes moves in looking to clinch but Ferra pushes him off.
Reyes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ferra paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Reyes lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Reyes looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Reyes would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Reyes shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ferra is trying to defend but Reyes finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Reyes seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Ferra tries to roll over but Reyes keeps him under control.

Ferra had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Reyes defends it easily.

Ferra bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Reyes's guard.
Ferra is breathing heavily.

Reyes lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ferra!

Ferra is squirming around, avoiding Reyes's attempts to control the action.

Reyes wants to control the pace but Ferra is squirming around nicely.
Ferra is wriggling around trying to escape.

Ferra is in a horrible position here. Reyes smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Reyes has control of Ferra's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Ferra regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Ferra keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Reyes shoots in and drives through. Ferra sprawls well.
Reyes throws a low kick but Ferra avoids it.
Reyes shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ferra defends it nicely.

Reyes jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Ferra manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Reyes cracks Ferra with a big right hand but Ferra just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Ferra is trying to get back to half guard.
Reyes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ferra keeps working.

Reyes thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Ferra manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Pono Reyes has got the better of the ground game so far.

Reyes wants to control but Ferra postures up.

Ferra swings around for an armbar but Reyes sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Ferra's guard.
Ferra tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Ferra working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Reyes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Reyes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ferra escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Reyes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Reyes drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Reyes jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Ferra has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Reyes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ferra stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reyes swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hendo Ferra has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Reyes keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Ferra's head.

Pono Reyes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Reyes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
