Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adrian Lyons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Acer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Acer has chosen Johnny I hardly knew ye as his entrance music. Ricky Acer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Chris Edwards and Paul Tew.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lyons shoots in looking for a takedown. Acer tries to sprawl out of it but Lyons keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Acer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Acer shoots in and bounces Lyons off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Acer is in close to Lyons's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Lyons is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Lyons throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lyons throws a sloppy head kick and Acer moves out of range easily.
Acer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lyons moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Lyons has Acer up against the cage in a clinch.
Lyons tries for a takedown but Acer manages to get underhooks.
Lyons cracks Acer with a nice body shot.

Lyons escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lyons throws a right and a left that Acer avoids nicely.
Acer looks to land a combination but Lyons avoids it well.
Lyons misses with a double jab
and Acer counters with a low kick, right behind Lyons 's knee.
A chopping leg kick lands by Acer.

Lyons lands a big head kick that sends Acer tumbling to the mat! Lyons takes a step backwards and waves Acer back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Ricky Acer has been cut.
Lyons throws a head kick that misses

and Acer counters with a takedown into side control.
Acer is still in real trouble! Can Lyons finish him?
Lyons is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Lyons is breathing heavily.

Lyons pushes Acer off and gets back to his feet.
Lyons tries to bum rush Acer with a series of wild strikes but Acer uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
No joy there for Acer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Lyons rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Acer moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Acer seems to have recovered his senses.
Acer lands a nice looking kick to the body. Lyons takes a step back to recover.
Acer swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Lyons counters with a nice uppercut.

and Acer makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Lyons really felt that one!

Lyons gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Lyons wants to stand up but Acer is controlling him.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Adrian Lyons will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Acer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lyons is fending him off so far but Acer persists. Nope, Lyons circles away and we're back to standing.
Acer shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lyons as he jumps to the side.

Lyons fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Acer, pushing him back against the cage.
Acer keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Lyons's efforts to push away.

Lyons escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Acer seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lyons does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Horrible takedown by Acer or perhaps it was just good defense by Lyons which made him look bad.
Adrian Lyons has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricky Acer.

and Acer decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lyons's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lyons looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lyons lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Acer gets full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Acer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lyons doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lyons manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Ricky Acer has got the better of the ground game so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lyons stands up over Acer, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

That was a close second round but I would say that Adrian Lyons will probably get the nod.

That's time! Lyons's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Lyons gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Acer tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lyons just stands there and leans against the cage.

Lyons changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Acer fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Acer with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lyons to score with a decent uppercut.
Acer misses with a takedown attempt - Lyons sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Lyons feints and as Acer raises his hands in defense, Lyons changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
