The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez shoots in for a takedown but Malek shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Gomez looks for a takedown but Malek sprawls well.
Malek throws a sloppy head kick and Gomez moves out of range easily.
A head kick from Malek lands but Gomez takes it in his stride.

Malek lands a high kick to the side of Gomez's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Malek dives into guard, looking to finish.
