Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Revilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Bruens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Revilla comes to the cage accompanied by Phenomenon- Thousand Foot Krutch. Joseph Revilla has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joseph Revilla! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Bruens! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bruens changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Revilla tries to avoid it but Bruens manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Revilla to the ground. Revilla escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Revilla throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Revilla closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bruens to the mat! Bruens manages to get full guard. Bruens keeping moving, preventing Revilla from controlling successfully. Revilla has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Revilla trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bruens controls Revilla momentarily but Revilla frees himself. Revilla being controlled here momentarily. Revilla sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bruens's guard. Revilla wants to pass to mount but Bruens is defending the position. Bruens keeping hold of Revilla's head, controlling as best he can. Revilla is looking to take a break and control but Bruens is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Revilla drops an elbow to the side of Bruens's head. Bruens is refusing to be controlled, as Revilla sits in half guard. Revilla is just content to waste time from the top position. Bruens takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Revilla is looking to stand up but Bruens won't let him. Bruens is looking for a triangle but Revilla pushes his legs off easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Revilla tries to free his leg and advance position but Bruens is retaining full guard. Revilla in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Bruens looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Bruens might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Revilla kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Bruens is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Bruens looks gassed! Bruens looking to hit a scissor sweep but Revilla is one step ahead there. Bruens trying to keep a closed guard but Revilla is proving a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Revilla gets a takedown into half guard. Revilla will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Revilla is trying to work for a kimura but Bruens is defending well.

Bruens regains full guard. Nicely done. Bruens wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Bruens looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bruens controlling Revilla's posture. Revilla trying to control the position from guard on top but Bruens is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Revilla stopping the sweep attempt from Bruens. Revilla looking to pass the guard. Revilla looking to sit in guard and control but Bruens gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bruens accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bruens seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Joseph Revilla will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Revilla fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bruens sprawls well initially but Revilla persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Bruens regains full guard. Nicely done. Bruens manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Bruens trying to control but Revilla is having none of it. Revilla knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bruens on the ground. Revilla is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Bruens is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Revilla has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Revilla! Revilla trying to control but Bruens is working from the bottom. Revilla postures up.

Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Revilla is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Revilla is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Bruens.
