Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Cruise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Cruise! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cruise dodges the punch combination from Nelson.
Cruise gets a clinch. Cruise lands a left hand.
Cruise lands a hook to the side of the head. Nelson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Cruise tries to pull guard but Nelson won't allow it.
A short uppercut from Nelson. Cruise is trying to break free. Cruise fails to pull guard.
Nelson is trying to push Cruise away but Cruise has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Nelson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Nelson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. A telegraphed right hand from Nelson misses the target. Cruise misses with a takedown attempt - Nelson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Cruise. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nelson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cruise paws at him with a jab and circles away. A momentary lapse in concentration from Nelson enables Cruise to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Nelson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Cruise wants to stand and escape but instead Nelson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Nelson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cruise works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Nelson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Nelson stays in close to Cruise's body and controls the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nelson throws a big right hand that misses. Nelson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nelson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Cruise keeping moving, preventing Nelson from controlling successfully. Nelson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Frank Nelson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Cruise forces Nelson back against the cage and clinches. Nelson stalling in the clinch but Cruise improves position. Nelson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cruise clinches up against the cage. Nelson lands a body shot. Nelson breaks the clinch.
Nelson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nelson doesn't manage to clinch there - Cruise circles away.
Nelson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Cruise gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Nelson. Cruise takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Jason Cruise has been cut. Cruise is breathing heavily. Danga de danga de dang - Nelson scores with a four punch combination!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nelson misses with a double jab.
Cruise takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Nelson lands a left and a right that send Cruise crashing to the mat, dazed. Nelson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Cruise is rocked! Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Nelson walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Cruise drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Nelson swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Cruise's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frank Nelson!
