The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Itaniemi lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Hallavaara swings for the body but Itaniemi moves out of range.
Itaniemi throws a solid leg kick but Hallavaara takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Itaniemi.
Hallavaara misses with an uppercut.
A jab from Hallavaara finds it's way through Itaniemi's defenses.
Hallavaara slips a straight right by Itaniemi.
Hallavaara misses with a wild body shot.
Hallavaara throws the left hand but Itaniemi avoids the punch easily.
Hallavaara checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Unski Hallavaara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A big left from Itaniemi misses.
Itaniemi moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hallavaara throws a jab when Itaniemi was well out of range.
Hallavaara's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Itaniemi connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hallavaara scrambles back to his feet.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Itaniemi, right into the meat.

Itaniemi fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hallavaara has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Itaniemi takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Itaniemi doesn't manage to clinch there - Hallavaara circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hallavaara fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Hallavaara throws a jab when Itaniemi was well out of range.
Hallavaara throws a hook but Itaniemi avoids it easily.
Itaniemi connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hallavaara. Hallavaara circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Itaniemi moves away from the strike by Hallavaara.
Itaniemi closes the distance and clinches.
Hallavaara throws a punch but it's blocked by Itaniemi.
Hallavaara breaks from the clinch.
Hallavaara throws the left hand but Itaniemi avoids the punch easily.
Itaniemi lands a left and a right that send Hallavaara crashing to the mat, dazed. Itaniemi thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Hallavaara is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Itaniemi lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Hallavaara head around and knocks him out cold! Itaniemi hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Urho Itaniemi!
