PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Z Hackenbush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitch Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miller has chosen Disturbed-Get Psycho as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hugo Z Hackenbush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mitch Miller!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Eddie Farnsworth and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hackenbush waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Miller.
Hackenbush tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Hackenbush fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Hackenbush tries to clinch up.
Miller throws a sloppy head kick and Hackenbush moves out of range easily.
Miller stuffs the takedown attempt from Hackenbush. Hackenbush gets slowly back to his feet.
Hugo Z Hackenbush seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Miller lands a nice looking body kick.
Miller scoring well with a low kick there.
Hackenbush is breathing heavily.
Miller throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hackenbush crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Miller - the referee stops the clock and Hackenbush gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Miller. Hackenbush manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Miller gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Hackenbush wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Miller unloads a knee to the mid-section. Hackenbush lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Miller throws a knee to the head but misses.
Miller tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Miller connects with a nasty looking knee right to Hackenbush's face.
Miller trying to land knees to the body.
Hackenbush is working for takedown but Miller is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hugo Z Hackenbush. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Miller misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Hackenbush.
Miller misses with a knee strike.
Miller throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Hackenbush blocks it with crossed arms.
Miller crunches a lovely knee into Hackenbush's ribcage.
Miller using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Hackenbush has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hackenbush is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Miller gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Hackenbush tries to pull guard but Miller won't allow it.
Hackenbush fails to pull guard.
Miller lands a knee to the head.
Miller lands a nice knee to the body.
Hackenbush is working for takedown but Miller is calmly controlling the position for now.

Hackenbush has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Miller uses from the top position.
Miller really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hackenbush. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Miller is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Hackenbush has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Miller is looking to defend but Hackenbush has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Miller! Hackenbush pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Miller taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Hugo Z Hackenbush!
