Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mark Brockington! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bill Wolstenholme! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wolstenholme takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
It looks like Bill Wolstenholme has been cut. No joy there for Wolstenholme, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Good shot there by Wolstenholme. A telegraphed right hand from Wolstenholme misses the target. A punch combination from Wolstenholme misses. Brockington moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jab, jab by Wolstenholme - just one landing. Brockington on the wrong end of a nice hook. Wolstenholme throws a looping overhand right but Brockington ducks down to avoid it. Brockington throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Wolstenholme ducks right into an uppercut from Brockington. Bill Wolstenholme seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Brockington misses with a double jab
and Wolstenholme counters with a nice body shot. Brockington misses with a jab to the body
and Wolstenholme counters with a lovely shot to the body. Brockington looks to land a combination but Wolstenholme avoids it well. Wolstenholme moves forwards but Brockington connects with a nice, crisp jab. Brockington misses with a jab, cross combination.
Wolstenholme lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Brockington fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Wolstenholme looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Brockington lands a jab. Brockington slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Sloppy strikes from Brockington. Those never looked like landing. Wolstenholme misses with a wild body shot. A jab lands there for Brockington. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Wolstenholme swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Wolstenholme throws a lazy right hand but Brockington sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Brockington falls off balance throwing a combination
and Wolstenholme cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Wolstenholme gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Wolstenholme throws a predictable looking body shot
and Wolstenholme takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Brockington throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Brockington tries to bum rush Wolstenholme with a series of wild strikes but Wolstenholme uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A combination from Brockington does no damage. Wolstenholme takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brockington stalks Wolstenholme and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Wolstenholme's face. Wolstenholme staggers backwards, shaken. Oooh a lovely combination from Brockington sends Wolstenholme down but not out. Brockington dives into side control looking to finish.
Wolstenholme is rocked! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Wolstenholme gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Brockington looking for a guillotine from mount but Wolstenholme is having none of it. Brockington mounts Wolstenholme! Really nice guard pass there! Brockington wants to finish this one by submission but Wolstenholme is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Brockington. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brockington working for a guillotine from mount but Wolstenholme is in no mood to give up. Wolstenholme trying desperately to get to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brockington looking to secure an arm triangle but Wolstenholme defends it well. Brockington swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
