Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Devon James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ralph Lauren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James takes a kick to the side of the head.
James defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lauren.
Lauren fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Lauren shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lauren showed some decent athleticism there.
James pushes Lauren off and gets back to his feet.
Lauren tries to close the distance and clinch up but James swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sloppy strikes from Lauren. Those never looked like landing.
James shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lauren's guard.
James tries to free his leg and advance position but Lauren is retaining full guard.
James passes easily into side control. Nice work.
A lull in the action here as James stalls from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lauren avoids any damage from the ground and pound of James.
James is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lauren knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
James misses with the ground and pound.
Lauren is looking for a sweep.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
James cracks Lauren with a big right hand but Lauren just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Lauren is not content to let James control the position.

and James counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by James.
Devon James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ralph Lauren.

James scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Lauren is staying active underneath James, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

James decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lauren, up you get!

James decides to stand back up. James steps back and let's Lauren get back to his feet.
James shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lauren pinned against the cage. Lauren gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

James changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Lauren has his takedown stuffed
and James counters with a single leg into guard. Lauren didn't expect that.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
James is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Lauren keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as James accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Lauren counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
James is looking to improve his position.

Lauren tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Lauren swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and James is now in Lauren's guard. A big mistake from Lauren there, giving up the dominant position!
