PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kross Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Vann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burns comes to the cage accompanied by Gimme the Loot. Vann is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Lose Yourself- Eminem. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns throws a series of punches but Vann moves out of range.

Burns doesn't manage to clinch there - Vann circles away.

No joy there for Vann, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Vann fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Burns.

Burns shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vann as he avoids it easily.
Vann tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Burns was well out of range. Poor timing from Vann.
Vann wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Vann throws a right hand that Burns ducks under and follows up with a left that Burns also avoids with ease.

Burns shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Vann defends it nicely.
Vann avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Good leg kick by Vann there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Burns is trying hard to land a takedown here. Vann sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Crunch! Vann slams his shin into Burns's torso.

Burns shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Vann defends it nicely.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Burns. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

and Vann counters with a three punch combo that has Burns backing up. Burns nods at Vann to acknowledge the strikes.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A solid leg kick lands there for Vann.

Vann motions for Burns to come forward. Vann throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Vann is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Burns rather than just go for the knockout.

Vann wants to control but Burns is having none of it.
