Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Dickkinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sam Dickkinson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Eric Freeman! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dickkinson is looking to clinch but Freeman is avoiding it.
Freeman moves into range and clinches up with Dickkinson. Freeman wants to stall.
Dickkinson throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Freeman has hold of one of Dickkinson's legs. Dickkinson is fighting the takedown attempt but Freeman gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Freeman wants to pass the guard but Dickkinson is keeping the position. Dickkinson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Dickkinson wants to control but Freeman passes easily into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Freeman controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Freeman stands up from Dickkinson's guard - Freeman perhaps looking for a knockout. Dickkinson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dickkinson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Dickkinson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Dickkinson wants to control from the top but Freeman keeps moving. Dickkinson stops Freeman from standing up.

Dickkinson stopping the sweep attempt from Freeman. Dickkinson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Freeman manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dickkinson has Freeman in his guard. Dickkinson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dickkinson is on top in guard.

Dickkinson stands and throws Freeman's legs to the side, diving into side control. Dickkinson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Dickkinson is breathing heavily. Dickkinson goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Freeman rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Dickkinson's guard! Nice work there by Freeman! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Freeman pushes down on Dickkinson's leg and manages to get into half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Freeman stands up from half guard. Dickkinson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Freeman circles away. Freeman lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Freeman wants to clinch and Dickkinson moves into the clinch. Freeman dodges an elbow strike from Dickkinson.

Dickkinson creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Freeman avoids the elbow strike from Dickkinson, against the cage.
Freeman has picked Dickkinson up - he's going for a ride! Freeman dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Freeman stalling away here and it's allowed Dickkinson to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Dickkinson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Freeman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Dickkinson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eric Freeman dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Dickkinson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Dickkinson clinches but Freeman breaks the clinch and Freeman holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Freeman tries to score a body lock takedown but Dickkinson shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Dickkinson throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

It looks like Eric Freeman has been cut. Freeman takes an elbow to the temple. Freeman is trying to trip Dickkinson. He has hold of a leg but Dickkinson is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Freeman persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Freeman won't allow Dickkinson to sweep him here. Dickkinson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Freeman's guard. Dickkinson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Dickkinson swings around for an armbar but Freeman sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Dickkinson's guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Freeman forces his way into half guard. Freeman seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Dickkinson is looking for a sweep. Freeman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Freeman postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Dickkinson to stand up. Freeman pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Freeman gets a clinch. Freeman drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Freeman throws a knee to the head but misses.

Sam Dickkinson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Freeman. Freeman tries to break the clinch but Dickkinson is controlling the position. Freeman dodges an elbow strike from Dickkinson.

Dickkinson sneaks back into half guard. Dickkinson is looking for a sweep. Freeman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Dickkinson is looking to control Freeman's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dickkinson avoid being mounted?

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Freeman in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Freeman trying to stand up but can't free himself from Dickkinson's guard. Dickkinson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Dickkinson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Dickkinson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Freeman is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Dickkinson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Freeman's back instead. Freeman tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Dickkinson moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Freeman has worked his arm free - good work by Freeman!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Dickkinson looks to move to half guard but instead Freeman has passed into mount! Damn! Dickkinson tries to reverse the position but Freeman maintains control. Dickkinson sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Dickkinson tries to get to full guard but Freeman has control of the leg. Sam Dickkinson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dickkinson looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Dickkinson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Dickkinson is pressing down on Freeman's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dickkinson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Freeman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Freeman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Freeman advances position into side control! Dickkinson tries to bench press Freeman off him but Freeman keeps the position. Freeman controlling from side mount. Dickkinson is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Freeman is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
And that's the end of the fight! Sam Dickkinson showed his dominance in that final round. I think Freeman has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
