Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mason Terell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Jojo III (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jojo III is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Joey Joe Joe Jr Shabadoo. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Columbo Gatti and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jojo III tries to clinch there but Terell circles away.
Jojo III tries to score with a low kick but Terell moves his leg out of the way.
Jojo III fails in his attempt to clinch.
Terell shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Terell was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Terell goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Jojo III is on top in guard.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Terell cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Terell moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Jojo III has worked his arm free - good work by Jojo III!
Jojo III regains half guard there - taking advantage of Terell's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Jojo III moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Terell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jojo III swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Terell drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jojo III dives on top into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Terell manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jojo III manages to get himself to full guard.

Jojo III is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Terell drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jojo III manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Terell has Jojo III in his guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Terell wants to stand but Jojo III is controlling the position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Jojo III wants to control from the top but Terell keeps moving.
Terell trying to keep a closed guard but Jojo III is proving a slippery customer.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Nice takedown defense from Terell. No joy for Jojo III on that attempt.

and Terell counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jojo III won't be happy with that.
Terell thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Jojo III is looking to score with low kicks.

and Terell counters with a lovely shot to the body.
No joy there for Terell, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Terell throws the left hand but Jojo III avoids the punch easily.

Joey Jojo III seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jojo III closes the distance but Terell moves to the side
and Terell counters with a straight right hand.
Terell shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Terell seems to be looking for submissions.
Terell slips a nice elbow through Jojo III's hands, connecting with Jojo III's forehead.

Terell thows a huge punch but Jojo III dodges it nicely.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Terell connects with a nice short shot to Jojo III's temple.

Terell's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Terell is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jojo III is controlling him.

and Terell decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jojo III's guard.

Jojo III kicks Terell off and gets to his feet.
Jojo III shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Terell sprawls well. Terell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jojo III gets slowly back to his feet.
Mason Terell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joey Jojo III.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Terell has the hooks in. Jojo III is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Terell has his arm under Jojo III's chin here. Game over son! Terell squeezes tightly and Jojo III is forced to tap out!
