Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Voorhees (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hi Tachi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tachi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Voorhees tries to avoid it but Tachi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Voorhees to the ground. Voorhees escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Voorhees scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like Hi Tachi has been cut.
Tachi shoots in and drives through. Voorhees sprawls well.
Hi Tachi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tachi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Andrew Voorhees has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hi Tachi.

Tachi takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tachi has his foot on Voorhees's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Voorhees works his way back into a safe position though.

Voorhees is looking to stand up but Tachi won't let him.

Voorhees slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Tachi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Tachi wants to sweep but no luck.

Tachi is looking for a triangle but Voorhees pushes his legs off easily.

Voorhees got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tachi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Voorhees has managed to get both his arms back between Tachi's legs - danger averted.

Tachi wants to sweep here but Voorhees controlling him for the moment.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Voorhees clinches.
Voorhees stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Tachi is working for takedown but Voorhees is calmly controlling the position for now.
Voorhees prevents the takedown attempt.
Voorhees is trying to push Tachi away but Tachi has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Voorhees wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Voorhees breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Voorhees connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Tachi's hands.
Tachi doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Voorhees counters by moving into the clinch.

Voorhees moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Voorhees scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Tachi tries for a takedown but Voorhees circles away easily
letting Voorhees counter with a right hand.
Voorhees connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Voorhees counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Voorhees knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tachi on the ground.

Tachi is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Voorhees's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Voorhees's back!

Tachi has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Voorhees! Can he survive? No! He's out! Tachi gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
