The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Race looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Huerta is fending him off so far but Race persists. Nope, Huerta circles away and we're back to standing.
Race misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Huerta lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Race backs up against the cage.
Nice sprawl there from Huerta as Race shoots in.

Race is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Huerta knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Race has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Race looking for a guillotine from mount but Huerta is having none of it.

Race working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Huerta turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Race off and cradles Huerta's limp body as Race celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Adam Race!
