Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Royce Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Royce Cherubin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Royce Cherubin!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Bruno Hogan and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cherubin pivots, looking for a leg kick but Gracie is out of range and Cherubin settles back down.
Cherubin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gracie sprawls well. Gracie wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cherubin gets slowly back to his feet.
Cherubin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Gracie postures up.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Cherubin is keeping the position.
Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Cherubin looking for a sweep. Not yet Cherubin, not yet.
Gracie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Gracie slips nicely into half guard.
Gracie is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Cherubin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gracie is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cherubin defends it well.
Gracie looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Cherubin trying to control but Gracie postures up.
Cherubin tries to roll over but Gracie keeps him under control.
Gracie is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie is thwarting Cherubin's attempts to control the position.
Cherubin is looking to improve his position.
Gracie is looking for a kimura here.

Gracie passes the guard and advances to mount!
Cherubin really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Cherubin defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Gracie.
Gracie working for a submission but Cherubin is keeping him at bay.
Gracie jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Cherubin manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cherubin, who protects the arm well.
Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Cherubin can't do much from the bottom here.
Gracie is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cherubin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Gracie has an Americana. Cherubin didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Gracie is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Gracie hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Royce Gracie!
