The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Munoz closes the distance and clinches up with Vong, looking for a takedown. Munoz pushes Vong against the cage but Vong circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Munoz shoots in for a takedown but Vong shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Vong fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Munoz, pushing him back against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Munoz has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Vong avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Munoz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Munoz tries for a takedown. No joy.
Vong lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Vong has Munoz pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Munoz manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Vong scores a nice knee to the body.
Munoz is trying to trip Vong. He has hold of a leg but Vong is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Munoz persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Vong avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Munoz throws and elbow that misses. Vong uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Munoz's guard. Nice move by Vong!

Oh, the punch misses and Munoz has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Vong manages to get his head free but now Munoz has transitioned to an armbar! Vong grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Munoz! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
