Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hugh Krank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carter Byrd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hugh Krank! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carter Byrd! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Franklyn Lucas and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Byrd will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Krank tries to clinch up. Byrd misses with a double jab.
Krank keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Byrd fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
It looks like Hugh Krank has been cut. Byrd throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Byrd displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Byrd fails to land with a series of punches.

Byrd stalks Krank and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Krank's face. Krank staggers backwards, shaken. A punch combination from Byrd misses. Byrd looks to score with a jab to the body but Krank is just out of range. Byrd misses with a two punch combination.
Carter Byrd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Krank shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Byrd is trying to defend but Krank finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Krank wants to control but Byrd is keeping him busy.

Krank is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Byrd has managed to free his arm - good work. Byrd wants to improve his position but Krank is controlling well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Krank stands up from half guard. Byrd throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Krank. Byrd looks to land a combination but Krank avoids it well. Byrd darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Krank trying to control but Byrd postures up.
Byrd is pressing down on Krank's thigh, looking to free his foot. Krank is holding on for now. Krank wants to stand back up but Byrd manages to pass into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Krank regains half guard. Byrd wants to take a breather but Krank is having none of it. Krank trying to control but Byrd postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Byrd is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Byrd is looking to advance position but Krank won't allow it. Byrd not landing any meaningful shots this time. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Byrd seems to be looking for submissions.

Byrd really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Krank. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Krank is standing up, even though he is in mount. Krank scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Byrd tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Krank wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Krank could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Krank tries to advance to mount but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Byrd struggling a bit here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Krank decides to take the fight back to the feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Byrd throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Krank sees it coming and avoids it easily. Byrd falls off balance throwing a combination
and Krank counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Byrd trying to control from the bottom.
Krank is looking to advance position but Byrd won't allow it. Byrd tries to roll over but Krank keeps him under control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Krank seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Krank prevents Byrd from improving his position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Hugh Krank wasn't doing enough on the ground. Byrd fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Krank is out of range. Byrd misses with a double jab
and Krank counters with a single leg into guard. Byrd didn't expect that.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Krank wants to pass the guard but Byrd is keeping the position. Byrd working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Krank doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Krank manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Byrd is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Byrd looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Krank has picked Byrd up and slammed him! Byrd can't keep hold of the triangle and Krank manages to pass to side control! Byrd tries to control but Krank manages to take his back. Krank really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Byrd.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Byrd tries to roll but Krank sticks to his back.
Krank keeps control of the position easily here as Byrd tries to buck him off.

Byrd wants to control his opponent's hands but Krank gets his hands free. Byrd breaks Krank's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Krank is looking for a triangle but Byrd pushes his legs off easily.

Nice straight punches there by Byrd. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Byrd. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Byrd escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Krank gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Byrd pulls Krank in to control the position. Byrd trying to keep a closed guard but Krank is proving a slippery customer.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Krank sitting in guard, not really doing much. Krank wants to control from the top but Byrd keeps moving. Byrd is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Krank is aware though and is defending well. Krank preventing the sweep. Krank wants to control from the top but Byrd keeps moving. Byrd is trying to control the position but Krank postures up. Hugh Krank overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Krank trying to control but Byrd is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Hugh Krank. Byrd tries to bum rush Krank with a series of wild strikes but Krank uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Carter Byrd seems to be getting the better of the standup. Byrd rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Krank moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Krank takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Byrd misses with a combination
and Krank counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Byrd! Byrd bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Krank wants to stand and escape but Byrd is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! Carter Byrd comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Byrd has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
