The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Evans moves into the clinch successfully.
Evans is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Balboa pulls him back up using the underhooks. Balboa prevents a body shot from Evans. Balboa wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Evans has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Balboa avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Evans is breathing heavily. Evans manages to break the clinch.
Balboa shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Evans as he avoids it easily. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Balboa.
Rocky Balboa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice takedown defense from Balboa. No joy for Evans on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rashad Evans. That's going to take a lot out of him. Evans dodges the punch combination from Balboa.
Balboa sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Evans to the ground! Balboa dives into full mount looking to finish!
Evans is rocked!
It looks like Rashad Evans has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Balboa trying to control but he's not successful this time. Balboa looking to control and managing it successfully. Balboa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Evans. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Balboa trying to control but Evans is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Balboa controlling from mount. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Balboa trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Rocky Balboa has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Balboa lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Balboa manages to break the clinch.
Balboa lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Evans backs up against the cage.
Balboa scores with the left hand. Evans knows he should have avoided that one. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Balboa scores with a shot to the body.
It's a brutal combination of punches from Balboa! Evans is backing up but he can't get away as Balboa lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Evans and ends the fight. Great knockout.
