Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mitch Layden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Ming Chang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mitch Layden could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Dave Ming Chang's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 1, fighting out of London, Mitch Layden! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Ming Chang! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Layden shoots in for a takedown but Ming Chang shows good takedown defense. Ming Chang changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Layden looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Layden sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Layden blocking the ground and pound attempt from Ming Chang. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Layden wants to improve his position but Ming Chang is controlling well.
Ming Chang has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Layden flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Ming Chang is looking to advance position but Layden won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Layden is looking for a sweep. Ming Chang is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ming Chang seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Ming Chang is looking to stall here but Layden recovers full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Layden has his foot on Ming Chang's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ming Chang works his way back into a safe position though. Layden looking to control.
Ming Chang drops back looking for a leg! Layden is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Layden manages to kick Ming Chang off! Ming Chang jumps back into Layden's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back. Layden controls Ming Chang momentarily but Ming Chang frees himself. Ming Chang gets to his feet. Layden looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Layden misses the shot to the body. Layden takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Ming Chang jabs at Layden's body. Ming Chang throws a nice looking combination but Layden bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Ming Chang clinches. Ming Chang has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Layden regains guard immediately. Ming Chang gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Ming Chang dives in and grabs Layden's left leg, looking for a takedown. Layden pushes down on Ming Chang's head and hops out. Ming Chang shoots in for a double leg but Layden sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Ming Chang dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Layden takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Ming Chang throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Mitch Layden is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ming Chang scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Layden shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ming Chang sprawls well. Ming Chang wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Layden gets slowly back to his feet. Very smooth. Ming Chang fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Ming Chang advances to full mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ming Chang fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ming Chang controlling the position easily from mount. Layden sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Ming Chang seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Ming Chang thows a huge punch but Layden dodges it nicely.
Layden is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ming Chang seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Layden does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Layden won't allow Ming Chang to pass to mount. Ming Chang throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Ming Chang gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Layden doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Ming Chang cracks Layden with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
It looks like Mitch Layden has been cut. Ming Chang ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Layden moves away. Ming Chang lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Layden can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Ming Chang and Layden drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Ming Chang.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dave Ming Chang! Dave Ming Chang retains his featherweight title!
