PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between SunOf Kirosawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Florian Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kirosawa comes to the cage accompanied by This is War - 30 Seconds to Mars. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, SunOf Kirosawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Florian Mir!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Fedor Mirinova and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mir displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kirosawa.
Kirosawa shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mir defends it nicely.

Kirosawa looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Kirosawa is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Kirosawa is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mir doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kirosawa.
Kirosawa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mir keeps working.

Kirosawa has gone for a leg lock! Mir slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kirosawa's guard.
Mir must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kirosawa is defended easily by Mir.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The fight stays on the outside here - Mir looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to SunOf Kirosawa.
I think Kirosawa has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
