Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Cesar Vega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and cyrus sawyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cesar Vega has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vega throws a right and a left that both miss.
Vega throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Horrible takedown by sawyer or perhaps it was just good defense by Vega which made him look bad.
Vega lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

sawyer changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vega looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Vega takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Vega is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, sawyer asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

sawyer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
sawyer cracks Vega with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Vega is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

sawyer tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
sawyer advances to mount.
Vega is bucking up trying to escape but sawyer cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

sawyer is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Vega can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Vega is squirming around, avoiding sawyer's attempts to control the action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Vega throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent sawyer stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Vega lands a nice hook to sawyer's body. sawyer takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

sawyer shoots in looking for a takedown. Vega tries to sprawl out of it but sawyer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Vega manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Vega pushes sawyer away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, sawyer gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

sawyer does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

sawyer darts in and clinches Vega up against the cage.
sawyer tries to pull guard but Vega holds him up against the cage and eventually sawyer drops back down to his feet.

sawyer misses with the combination.
sawyer throws a nice looking combination but Vega bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Vega lands with a hook. sawyer tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

sawyer walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
sawyer slips under a jab.
sawyer cracks Vega with a good jab.

sawyer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vega tries to avoid it but sawyer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vega to the ground. Vega escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

sawyer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Vega scores with a one two! sawyer had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
sawyer feints and then cracks Vega's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Vega down.

Vega shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. sawyer eats them both and turns towards Vega to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Vega wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

A lazy left from sawyer finds it's target.
sawyer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vega is fending him off so far but sawyer persists. Nope, Vega circles away and we're back to standing.

Vega stalks sawyer and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into sawyer's face. sawyer staggers backwards, shaken.

Vega darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
sawyer has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Vega is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by sawyer.

sawyer walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Vega is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

sawyer's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Vega connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! sawyer scrambles back to his feet.
