Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, John Bridge! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eddie House! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bridge closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. House quickly recovers to half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Bridge is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and House defends it well. House avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bridge. Bridge takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Bridge is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so House is just riding it out for now. Bridge eventually gives up the hold. Bridge looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Bridge thows a huge punch but House dodges it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. House trying to control but Bridge postures up.
Bridge with the ground and pound but House uses the opportunity to regain guard. House wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Bridge manages to pass to side control. Bridge has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bridge with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Bridge scoring with strikes to the body and head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bridge is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Bridge sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. House defending well though. House is trying to maintain the position but Bridge is very close to passing his half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bridge looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks House with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Bridge controlling the pace. Bridge stops House from getting back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bridge seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Bridge stands up and beckons House to join him on the feet. Bridge changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. House tries to avoid it but Bridge manages to keep hold of a leg and drag House to the ground. House escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. House stuffs the takedown. Bridge throws a right and a left that House avoids nicely. Donk. Bridge catches House right on the button with a cross.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bridge lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but House circles away quickly and effectively. Bridge doesn't manage to clinch there - House circles away.
House throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bridge misses with a jab, cross combination.
Bridge throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Bridge swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A head kick from Bridge lands but House takes it in his stride.
It looks like Eddie House has been cut. Bridge throws a head kick that House semi-blocks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Bridge dominated that round. The cut man is working on Eddie House's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
A big left from House misses. John Bridge seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bridge clinches up against the cage. House is trying to push Bridge away but Bridge has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Bridge working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Bridge has House pressed against the cage, preventing House from circling away and getting back to striking at range. House is trying to break the clinch but Bridge is controlling him. Bridge has House pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Bridge pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending House tumbling to the mat - Bridge dives into House's guard. House can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bridge controls the pace. Bridge trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but House manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
That's one minute gone in the round. Bridge is looking to stand up but House isn't so interested in that idea. House pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bridge is keeping the position for now. Bridge manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Bridge thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Bridge scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish House?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bridge has hold of House's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and House manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Bridge raining down shots from the mount! Bridge working for a submission but House is keeping him at bay. Bridge thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Bridge throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for House because Bridge loaded up on that one. A nice elbow there by Bridge.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bridge throwing strikes here but House is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Bridge raining down shots from the mount! Bridge landing punches. Bridge lands a big elbow. Bridge punishing his opponent with strikes.
That has opened up Eddie House's cut even more. John Bridge overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Bridge raining down shots from the mount!
Eddie House's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Eddie House's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
