Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Kracken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caio Fernandes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, The Kracken! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Caio Fernandes! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Felipe Paraventi and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fernandes wants to clinch and Kracken counters with a nice double leg into side control. Fernandes won't be happy with that. Kracken thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kracken content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Fernandes tries to get back to half guard but can't. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Kracken just content to control the position. Fernandes manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Kracken wants to take a breather but Fernandes is having none of it. Fernandes blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kracken. Fernandes is defending against the submission attempts here by Kracken.
Kracken is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Fernandes sees it coming and defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kracken tries to stand but can't do so whilst Fernandes controls his leg. Kracken trying to mount his opponent but Fernandes defends it. It looks like Kracken is going to stand back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Kracken tries to pass to full mount but Fernandes defends it. Kracken perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Fernandes looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Fernandes is pressing down on Kracken's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Kracken avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kracken wants to stand but Fernandes is controlling his posture from full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kracken accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Kracken postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Fernandes looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kracken is looking to stand up but Fernandes won't let him. Kracken looking to pass the guard. Fernandes has his foot on Kracken's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kracken works his way back into a safe position though. Kracken throwing strikes from guard but Fernandes blocks nicely. Kracken is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Kracken has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The Kracken has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Fernandes tries to clinch and Kracken counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Fernandes! Fernandes is in all sorts of trouble here.
Fernandes is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Fernandes looks gassed! Kracken wants to finish this one by submission but Fernandes is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Kracken. Kracken prevents Fernandes from getting the reversal. Kracken tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Kracken tries to control but Fernandes wriggling away. Fernandes really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kracken lands a nice shot to the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Fernandes is trying to escape the mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
The Kracken dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kracken gets a takedown into half guard. Fernandes wants to get back to full guard. Kracken wants to free his trapped foot but Fernandes is holding on for dear life with his legs. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kracken connects with a nice short shot to Fernandes's temple. Fernandes is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kracken pulls his head out easily. Fernandes looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Fernandes actively working from the bottom here. Fernandes is breathing heavily. Kracken is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Fernandes has managed to free his arm - good work. Kracken trying to pass the guard but Fernandes defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kracken looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Fernandes is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kracken pulls his head out easily. Kracken thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Kracken knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fernandes on the ground. Kracken perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Kracken missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Kracken missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Fernandes is refusing to be controlled, as Kracken sits in half guard. Fernandes looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Kracken not landing any meaningful shots this time. Kracken is looking for a kimura here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Kracken content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Fernandes actively working from the bottom here. Kracken is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Fernandes is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kracken is trying to work for a kimura but Fernandes is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kracken trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Fernandes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kracken can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Kracken has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Fernandes preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Kracken gets to his feet. Fernandes looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Fernandes misses with a takedown and Kracken counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kracken. Kracken trying to control the position from guard on top but Fernandes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kracken is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Kracken throwing strikes from guard but Fernandes blocks nicely. Kracken got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fernandes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! Kracken content to stall in guard here. Kracken tries to stand but Fernandes is controlling from the bottom. Kracken seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Kracken circles away from the clinch attempt and Kracken counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Fernandes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kracken doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Fernandes is tightening it up a little... Kracken has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Kracken reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Kracken taps out! nice BJJ there by Fernandes!
