Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stevie Franchise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Riggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Franchise might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to I Don't Like Mondays- The Boomtown Rats. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rob Riggins! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riggins tries to clinch up. Riggins doesn't manage to clinch there - Franchise circles away.
Riggins is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Rob Riggins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Franchise lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Riggins wants to clinch up but Franchise keeps it at a distance. Riggins tries to close the distance and clinch up but Franchise swats him away and circles back towards the center. Franchise avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Franchise stuns Riggins with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Riggins tries to close the distance and clinch but Franchise swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Franchise avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A punch lands to the side of Riggins 's head but he takes it in his stride. Riggins tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Franchise manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Riggins wants to clinch up but Franchise keeps it at a distance. Franchise feints and as Riggins raises his hands in defense, Franchise changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Franchise stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Riggins swivels though and keeps the full guard. Franchise drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Franchise jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Franchise tries to free his leg and advance position but Riggins is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Franchise passes Riggins's left leg - he's now in half guard. Franchise is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Riggins doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Franchise. Franchise has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Franchise controlling from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Franchise seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Riggins is holding on tight.
Franchise wants to control the pace but Riggins is squirming around nicely. Riggins is trying to escape the mount.
Franchise is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Riggins can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Franchise trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Franchise working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Franchise cracks Riggins with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Franchise fails to move to back control. Riggins is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Riggins is squirming around, avoiding Franchise's attempts to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stevie Franchise dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Riggins walks into a stiff left hand from Franchise. Stevie Franchise is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Franchise throws a nice inside leg kick. Franchise throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Riggins was covering up waiting for the punch and Franchise finishes the takedown easily into guard. Franchise pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Riggins is keeping the position for now. Franchise passes Riggins's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Franchise is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Riggins defends it well. Franchise thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Riggins's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Riggins tries to get to full guard but Franchise has control of the leg. Franchise seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Riggins does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Nice strikes from Franchise there. Franchise working over Riggins with some ground and pound. Riggins looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Franchise works his way into full mount! Franchise takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Riggins is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Franchise seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Riggins for as long as he can get away with. Franchise trying to control but Riggins is having none of it. BOOM! Franchise connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Franchise working for a guillotine from mount but Riggins is in no mood to give up. Franchise unloads with some shots from mount but Riggins bucks and avoids them well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Franchise wants to control the pace but Riggins is squirming around nicely. Franchise wants to take Riggins's back but he can't do it this time. Franchise trying to control but he's not successful this time. Franchise lands a big shot there that rocks Riggins but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Franchise throws a strike there. Riggins manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.
Riggins wants to control but Franchise is keeping busy and won't allow it. Franchise wants to lay and pray for a moment but Riggins keeps working. Franchise passes to full mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Franchise looking to secure an arm triangle but Riggins defends it well. Riggins is squirming around, avoiding Franchise's attempts to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

With the fighters up against the cage, Riggins throws an elbow but misses. Riggins throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Franchise blocks it with crossed arms. Franchise is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Riggins throws a knee to the head but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Riggins misses with an elbow strike.
Franchise is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Riggins just misses with a elbow thrown towards Franchise's brow. With the fighters up against the cage, Riggins throws an elbow but misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Franchise is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Riggins escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Riggins tries to clinch but fails miserably and Franchise counters with a two punch combo. Riggins takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Franchise lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Riggins tries to clinch but Franchise moves away and Franchise counters with a lovely shot to the body. Riggins takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Franchise shoots in and gets a takedown into Riggins's guard. Franchise passes into half guard. Franchise is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Riggins can do to turn this around? Franchise wants to pass to mount but Riggins is defending the position. Franchise stops Riggins from getting back to his feet.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Franchise lands a nice short elbow. Rob Riggins has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Franchise passes to full mount! Franchise trying to control but Riggins is having none of it. Franchise controlling his opponent. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Franchise looking to control but Riggins is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Franchise sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Franchise swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Riggins is now in Franchise's guard. A big mistake from Franchise there, giving up the dominant position! Franchise is adopting a defensive guard. Franchise trying to keep a closed guard but Riggins is proving a slippery customer.
Franchise looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Franchise punching from the bottom - just letting Riggins know he's still in a fight. Franchise is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Riggins missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Riggins in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Riggins must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Franchise avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Franchise tries to land a sweep but no joy. Stevie Franchise is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Riggins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Franchise has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Riggins has managed to get both his arms back between Franchise's legs - danger averted. Franchise had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Riggins defends it easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Stevie Franchise showed his dominance in that final round. Well Franchise has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
