Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Darvin Chillingsworth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deacon Griggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griggs has chosen Church by T-Pain as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Darvin Chillingsworth! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Deacon Griggs! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chillingsworth avoids a punch combination nicely.
Griggs uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Chillingsworth. Griggs avoids the body shot from Chillingsworth.
Griggs throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Chillingsworth. Good standup being displayed there by Griggs as he connects with a hook. Griggs misses with a looping right. Chillingsworth is trying hard to land a takedown here. Griggs sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Sloppy strikes from Griggs. Those never looked like landing. Chillingsworth misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Chillingsworth tries to clinch up but Griggs circles away and keeps his distance. Griggs fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Chillingsworth closes the distance and clinches. Chillingsworth wants to get back to striking at distance but Griggs won't allow it.
Chillingsworth's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Griggs trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Chillingsworth doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Chillingsworth keeping moving, preventing Griggs from controlling successfully. Griggs must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Griggs trying to stand up but can't free himself from Chillingsworth's guard. Chillingsworth working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Griggs doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Griggs manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Chillingsworth keeping full guard, as Griggs tries to pass. Griggs trying to control the position from guard on top but Chillingsworth is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Chillingsworth is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Griggs drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Griggs jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Chillingsworth looking for a guillotine here but Griggs defends easily.

Griggs thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Griggs loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Griggs sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Chillingsworth's guard. Griggs throws a strike but Chillingsworth avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Griggs trying to control but Chillingsworth is working from the bottom. Griggs throws a strike but Chillingsworth rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Griggs is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Deacon Griggs dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Chillingsworth takes one on the button. Griggs tries to bum rush Chillingsworth with a series of wild strikes but Chillingsworth uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Sloppy strikes from Griggs. Those never looked like landing. Chillingsworth takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Griggs with a hook. A right-left combo lands from Griggs. Griggs tests Chillingsworth's chin there with a solid looking shot. Griggs scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Griggs misses with a double jab.
Griggs scores with a jab to the jaw. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Griggs throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Chillingsworth. Chillingsworth avoids a punch combination nicely.

Chillingsworth tries to move into range but Griggs moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Chillingsworth fails with the takedown. Griggs lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Griggs with a body punch. A glancing blow. Griggs stuffs the takedown attempt from Chillingsworth. Chillingsworth gets slowly back to his feet. Griggs throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Griggs displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Griggs lands a nice hook to Chillingsworth's body. Chillingsworth takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Chillingsworth takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Chillingsworth takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Griggs lands with an overhand left. Oh Chillingsworth is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Deacon Griggs seems to be getting the better of the standup. Griggs drops Chillingsworth with a naaaaasty hook - Chillingsworth is in real trouble here! Griggs dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
